I have been working at Finish Line part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Training isn't just about something you can use in the store, it's also something you can use outside of the company. The company is very well structured. They want you to be about the people. It's not so much about the numbers like most companies, it's about being a well rounded company.

    Cons

Some managers aren't consistent with rules. It's very hard to move up. Associates are overlooked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more praise towards the associates. Without the associates, management wouldn't be getting the bonuses they do. We are overlooked at times. Especially those who repeatedly put up awesome numbers in the district.

Flexible schedules, Fun environment, managers respect their employees, competitive yet fun, discounts are a plus

    Cons

Pay is low for SAs. Usually have to work every Saturday

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider offering promotions to SAs to AM based on numbers, and pay higher than 1/3/5% on the commission.

I have been working at Finish Line full-time

    Pros

401k match, talented colleagues, great environment to learn in, and great facilities. Very laid back at the Boulder location. Employees can pretty much come and go as long as they get their work done.

    Cons

Pace of getting things done can be a bit slow sometimes. Leadership attrition has been poor the past year. There is little emphasis on intra-office processes. Leadership doesn't realize the importance of a strong foundation as it pertains to the codebase.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You can't go full speed 100% of the time. Sometimes you need to stop and spend time on things that will save you time, and therefore make the company more money, in the long term.
