    Pros

. You learn how to sell though, which is valuable in the business world, customer interactions vary, having to make the employee either versatile in treatment of the customer can help you in the long run. Lots of grunt work which disciplines.

    Cons

Lots and lots of focus on sales and not on customer interaction and relationship building. Depressing work environment.

    Pros

It was great to be around shoes and I really enjoyed interacting with customers every day.

    Cons

I didn't like how the stock room was almost always disorganized and I found out that my assistant managers were stealing from the company.

    Advice to Management

Try to keep all associates involved and really work to make sure the stock room is easy to navigate and keep it clean.

  3. It was a good place to work; however it is a bit political when comes to promotions.

    Pros

    The discounts on the shoes

    Cons

    Not much room for advancement

    Advice to Management

Promote those with credentials and experience not those employees that play politics well.

    Pros

Talk about sports stuff all day, can see all the new clothes and shoes before, pretty easy work. Had I wanted to move into a management position I could have based on my experience, and the pay wasn't that bad for managers.

    Cons

Folding clothes A LOT, which I hate.

    Advice to Management

None, it is what it is, I was thankful for the job when I needed it.

    Pros

Flexible, 30% discount on shoes/apparel, co workers. It was my first job ever and it has helped me with other interviews because I am able to learn how to sell.

    Cons

Holidays are extremely busy but that is retail for you. It really depends on who your manager is to see if you will have a good time.

    Pros

Great staff, very accommodating to your schedule room for advancement

    Cons

Some would suggest favoritism when it comes to scheduling, but bottom line is if your a great employee you'll get guaranteed hours. If your costumer service sucks not as many hours

  8. Very energetic environment, always need to be alert and look happy.

    Pros

Loved the management team, atleast at the Southpoint Mall location. The former store manager Shane was very hardworking and sales driven And made sure that all of his assistant store managers were exactly the same. I was there for 3 years and loved every minute of it. If your social, love to smile, and love athletic wear than Finishline at Southpoint Mall in Durham, NC is the place for you.

    Cons

Pay was horrible...Seriously, not a place to work if you want to make a living or have a family to support, but if your in high school or college than you'll be ok.

    Advice to Management

Please keep finding dedicated store managers from within the company and not hire managers outside of the company. This not only makes your stores better because your managers know what their doing, but at that point it becomes THEIR home and THEIR store and they will make sure that it flourishes. Also, this will motivate the other employees to work harder because they can see the growth potential. The most important thing I have to mention is when you do promote an employee to Assistant Manager, don't make them transfer. Allow them to keep their customers and help manage employees that they know and will listen to someone that they actually know and respect.

    Pros

One of the reasons that Finish Line is a great place to work because you are able to gain customer service skills as well as marketing skills, another reason that Finish Line is great because it is a great first job, especially for students who are still in school.

    Cons

The only cons are the salary, while working for Finish Line I felt the wages could have been higher or the amount of commission on a sales could have been higher.

    Advice to Management

My manager was great! The only thing that I would say that needed some work was, the communication between the Managers in Macy's and Finish Line. I worked inside of the Finish Line in the Macy's and I sometimes felt that there was a conflict of directions between the Finish Line way and the Macy's way,
