Pros – First Data Government Solutions is a decent place to work if :
1) You specialize in legacy technologies (e.g., mainframe, CICS, etc.) and you simply wish to close out your career in a relatively stable environment.
2) You specialize in current technologies but you don't mind interfacing with or enabling legacy technologies, and you have absolutely no career aspirations.
Cons – The environment and culture is not at all conducive to any meaningful form of career development. If you are considering an opportunity with FDGS, make sure you maximize your position and compensation before accepting because these two items will likely stagnate thereafter.
Advice to Senior Management – Live in the now, embrace the future, and leverage the outstanding skills and abilities of your brightest employees. To date, you have failed on all accounts and as a result, the future of FDGS continues to seek greener pastures elsewhere. Rightfully so.
