Would be a great church if there was good leadership that didn’t always focus on the past
Great congregation, and a wonderful mission director and mission opportunities, Children Director is outstanding is always thinking outside the box, has a great music program. Sr. Pastor is great pastor but needs an executive pastor that will help implement ideas and strategies

The dynamics of the congregation and its community have changed over the years, just like the modern city around it, but the way of doing ministry has remained the same and now it is struggling to find a clear direction for it to grow. This church will have difficulty growing in any direction, mainly because of its’ unwillingness to change fundamental thoughts, perceptions, and values, as well as its missions in downtown Houston. Communications between staff is awful, it takes five people to sign off on a room assignment with setup and 3 out of 4 times it’s not right. Staff meeting are long, unproductive and a waist of valuable work time.
Leadership is also not friendly to women in leadership and there is good old boys club feeling. The executive pastor of the downtown campus is very patronizing to women especially.

    Advice to Management

Have a clear vision and stick to it and remove some of the upper management and replace with people who are forward thinkers that are not afraid to think outside of the box.
