I worked at FleishmanHillard as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Leadership has done a good job of cutting excess, before it was very top heavy. Investing in a new renovation and new talent. People who work there are great.

    Cons

Sometimes clients aren't the most exciting

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue reforming and it will pay dividends.

I have been working at FleishmanHillard

    Pros

Great people with lots of expertise. Energetic and accessible management.

    Cons

Definitely upper-level heavy, and a lot of that dead weight does not contribute to the company. These VPs and SVPs freely take days off, get tons of vacation and abuse the "working from home" system while costing clients tons of money and doing very little work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut some of the SVP dead weight, save money and pay your lower level staff more money.

I worked at FleishmanHillard as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

I learned more in one semester of interning there than I did all 4-5 years in college. It is the testing and proving grounds. Great resume builder. Future interviewer always asked "whoa, you interned there for 2 years?" because everyone know how tough and demanding the job was.

    Cons

Everyone's so busy, you're left to fend for yourself. Don't make evening plans because you'll usually have to stay late. Some of the projects were tedious and worthless in your portfolio. You have to be proactive if you want to do portfolio level work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take more time to build and foster young talent. You never now how many lives your be changing and inspiring.

I worked at FleishmanHillard as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Good exposure to the PR industry. F/H has many high profile clients, get to work in many aspects of the industry. It is a good internship to have on your resume, and does offer some possibility of a permanent position.

    Cons

Low pay, sometimes doing grunt work. The hours can be long, and overtime pay must be approved before it is ever paid. Culture can be clickish, but that can happened in any office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest with interns about hiring possibilities.

I have been working at FleishmanHillard full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

They keep clients for a very long time which helps keep the company stable finically. Great client roster. Really good people.

    Cons

You are expected to bill 50 hours week and often it's closest to 60 hours. The culture is a bit conservative. Some of the clients I don't always believe in what they stand for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
