Overall a good experience, however very dependent quality of local site management.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsCompetent local management
Good communication and cooperation between site level teams fostered a "get er done" attitude
    Fast paced, never boring
    Competitive benefits

ConsAs with most contract manufacturers at this level you are only as good as the "best" customer at your site.
No apparent cohesive corporate level strategy to aggressively increase U.S. sites business. Corporate, reactive not proactive. It's every site for them selves, sink or swim.
Too many layers of expensive corporate level management which impacts individual sites ability to provide the lower cost value proposition customers in this space demand.

Advice to Senior ManagementLean manufacturing and management principles are not just for the individual factory sites, They are crucial at the top. When evaluating corporate level business processes and practices don't be afraid... embrace the "Five WHYS".

    Mixed emotions

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsMany good colleagues, fast paced, opportunities to make an impact on day to day processes, very international environment allows for multi-cultural interaction.

ConsToo many re-organizations by senior management which leads to concern over future direction. No telecommuter policy is negative as they will not really allow people flexibility to work remotely even when it is clearly in the best interest of the company.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Good learning experience

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Woodbridge, VA

Pros- You get to play with new phones all the time
    - Satisfaction when customer's are really grateful for you services
    - never a dull day

Cons- Pay. Pay. Pay. You expect a LOT out of your employees, but aren't paying them to do all of the extra work.
    - Not enough actual training. All the new phones that come out, we essentially teach ourselves how to use them. There is no real tools to make KNOWING how to do your job easier.
    - Pay.
    - Open on Sunday
    - Being forced to work 10-11 hr days
    - New management is hiring a lot of their former employees from other companies based on personal relationships. And the new hires are ALL awful.
    - No real opportunity for growth

Advice to Senior ManagementOnly promote from within. Hiring managers that have no clue how to do the most basic function of the job over your current Supervisors that have put in the work seems pretty crappy. If you don't feel they're ready, you should spend more time developing your employees to prepare then for higher positions. Also, pay people what they're worth.

Good people and culture, but long hours and too willing to take abuse from their customers.

Test Engineer (Former Employee) Austin, TX

ProsVery good culture among engineers, technicians and direct labor workers. Management often invites even the lowest level worker to help in the decision making processes that have direct relation to their job. Good continual self improvement efforts regarding manufacturing process flow.

ConsManagements unwillingness to step up to customers that don't support their test equipment, instead telling their engineers to "Deal with it." rather than getting the customer to fix their problems. Sometimes lots of pressure and overtime to try and meet tight production schedules. Hockey-stick quarters due to wall-street driven revenue targets, resulting in hurry up and wait situations, instead of steady flow.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your engineers and don't tolerate customers that aren't willing to support your production efforts.

Great place to grow a career and get incredible global exposure...

Senior Director, Business Development (Current Employee) San Jose, CA

ProsTremendous amount of opportunity to learn about customer needs, large scale operation and business process discipline. There is no shortage of excitement because there is always something new that's happening.

ConsOver the years the company has became overly bureaucratic, self centered and unwilling or unable to implement real changes. Despite the increases in internal communication, the top executives are increasingly more distanced from the real world.

Advice to Senior Management1) The company needs to quickly evolve beyond its eroding EMS business model. 2) Need to learn how to navigate in the unfamiliar emerging markets. 3) Culture is what we practice, not something we say.
