I worked at Flextronics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is competitive and benefits are great but downgraded. Work load is depending on what account you work with, sometime great while sometime hectic. Some senior management are decent while some act hyper most of the time. Work environment is safe and security guards on duty all the time.

    Cons

Unless you just want paycheck then this location is worse for you. There are less chance for an advancement. Be ready to work under one who barely speaks english who's educational credential never been verified. This place hardly work as a team and most of the times it's all about "I" instead "us" crazy but true. Here are the breakdowns depending on what you're interested in. Analyst: Work get done but unexpected demands that must get meet, it's harsh demand most of the time with short timeline. Program manager: Mostly ego between each other and group building to play politics. Testing: Most won't last long here because this plant has awkward understanding about testing, also extreme pressure from customers. Quality: Your name will be on paper but you will be doing nothing or considered for nothing. Process: All day long every day play with pipes and build benches, everything else is beyond their scope of work or simply waste of paid time if they try to do anything. IT: Great place to learn then must get out. Facility: random changes that you will scratch your bald head mode than you actually work here. Lead: Listen to him listen to her listen to all, no ideas what you will do here. Supervisor: Make a point and stand on your legs or else someone else will run the show, very strange. Manager: Same as a supervisor and ready to stay under a gun, you will hardly make any good decisions. Line people: Lucky to have regular hours, sometime too many sometime less. It's a cut dog eat dob business. They try many ideas and talent but nothing works at sometime. If you're talented then stay away. Many talented works here however find themselves trapped and looking for exit. Nothing negative these are all realities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nothing....may be one. Do not give power to uneducated barely english speaking idiots. Hire some locals instead of wasting time of talent hire people. This place is what it should deserve.

I have been working at Flextronics

    Pros

I love what I do it's very challenging.

    Cons

The facility I work at, is very unfair in, promotions, rasies, as well as advancement. Along with there's no accountability for when people mess up

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is none. Nobody cares enough to do anything. So why bother

I worked at Flextronics full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good benefits, opportunities to try different departments for better fit and wide variety of types of positions. Lots of locations worldwide so opportunity to travel or for relocation.

    Cons

Corporate management and structure is constantly changing. The company is so large they have no depth in actual experienced managers for a variety of the segments. Ends up just a corporate pencil pusher or finance people really making decisions. This may work for their electronics divisions but not so great for some of the other more highly regulated divisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Retain people that know what they are doing rather than the lowest paid person. Or sacrificing experienced people in order to afford a high paid manager that doesn't know what they are doing.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It is a good place to get your teeth cut. You'll be exposed to a lot of different projects depending on your work and your section (there are many divisions in Flextronics).

I had the opportunity to work with very good co-workers and experienced engineers.

    Cons

It is a very demanding environment and you may be required to work extra hours. This may become the norm if you have several projects in the pipeline.

People getting laid off is not unusual and constant re-organization is the norm. You just don't focus on it otherwise you'd get really dizzy.

I don't think it is a company that is good for any long term plans.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Very diverse company with expertise in many areas of supply chain - I learned a lot.

    Cons

Difficult to grow with them as promotions are rare. Corporate culture is very slow and 1990s...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask the team what needs to be fixed - they know.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good pay and good experience. Hours weren't that bad. OK management. Customer service is definitely a must at this job. Don't expect to never be busy, but makes the day go by fast. Good area to work around as well.

    Cons

Management is made to where you don't get weekends off at all. The loyal employees are overlooked when it comes to promotions. Sometimes management acts to where you expendable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees better, especially the loyal ones.

Former Employee - Quality Supervisor in Budapest, MO

I worked at Flextronics full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

You are never bored. Good performance resulting in promotions. Management is open for suggestions. Training opportunities available.

    Cons

If you are not in the "inner circle" you can easily be the first to be fired during a headcount cut independently of your performance, this is mainly relevant at leader levels. In case of an average employee it is based on real performance. Working environment is not always good in all offices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lessons learned never identified from business fails. No real benchmark why no more business can be reached.
