I have been working at Flextronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company had great benefits and you always got your 40 hours per week. I got to work and learn about all different types of phones.

    Cons

The company would change the rules very often and sometimes not inform you. Also the company had an open door policy but if you used it you would get talked to about doing that not really an open door policy

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like people and not just like and number. Also take the time to listen to them instead of them telling them that you are wrong and they are right.

I worked at Flextronics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Negotiate a good salary up front because you will never get any more. There are good, smart people there at the working level.

    Cons

Upper management down to mid management have no idea how to move thru a project and get anything done. They will not listen to those on the ground in the trenches. Executives overseas are clueless as to how to run the business in the States. NO work life balance at all. You work, that's your life. Holidays, sickness, doesn't matter. The only time you will get off without having an argument is if a close relative dies! Seriously.

    Advice to Management

You cannot run the American side of the company the way you run the Asian side. It doesn't work.

  3. Good company to work for if hired at a corporate location instead of an acquisition site.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, reasonable work hours but just average work quality. Not satisfying job at all.

    Cons

No career growth opportunities within the organization. It may be different if one is hired at a corporate location but if you're part of an acquisition site, most likely one would end up doing the same thing without any growth.

    Pros

Floor workers get great support from the engineering technicians.

    Cons

Management more worried about quantity than quality. Product going out the door is very low quality.

    Advice to Management

Get on board and understand the reasons for poorest quality in the industry. Get more competent quality engineers and quality management personnel.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work with some very good customers

    Cons

When product has completed the NPI processes and production issues have been resolved product is moved to lower cost regions resulting in loss of jobs.

    Advice to Management

Be up front on the real business forecast. Don't let it be implied that there will be enough projects to keep everyone working.
