    Pros

Great pay if you own a good route.
    Sales managers can be good.

    Cons

Tell you that you're independent but treat you like employees.
Try to get as much money from you when possible, but won't help when you are missing money

    Pros

work indoors most of the time

    Cons

slave driven rush, rush, rush yet safety is preached if you get hurt you're on your on cause its on paper signed(sometimes) so dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. Pay for what is done by techs SUCKS for the expectation of you. Don't get me wrong I''m a firm believer of fair days work for fair days pay (lol) if you work shift an stuff goes array you are stuck!!!

    Advice to Management

don't have clicks(favorite workers) your shift workers are there to put out small fires not stay over and bail out days!!

    Pros

Make pay more aligned with work load expected. Need better compensation for employees.

  7. Things are getting out of hand

    Current Intern - "independent" Distributor
    Current Intern - "independent" Distributor

I have been working at Flowers Foods as an intern (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Interacting with fellow distributors and customers is always the highlight of my day.

    Cons

Being micromanaged, uneducated/untrustworthy management, not being really independent, on call 24/7, working unprofitable stops, eating price allowances (there are customers on my route that get the product cheaper than I do) , work/life balance, shady business practices, etc.

    Advice to Management

If you would invest in some decent technology you could probably save money by getting rid of these middlemen and also save a lot of paper, which you guys are STILL sending in mailbags. It's 2015, not 1919. In the future, I hope to be able to have acsess to any report that I want concerning MY route, including it's value. However, I know why that will never happen.

    Pros

The product is the top in the market.

    Cons

The management can't decide if they want employees or independent distributors.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the production and assist the distributors, not try to control them.

    Cons

Company breaks every law in the book, steals you blind. Should be investigated by the feds. What a huge disappointment.
