    I worked at Flowserve

    Pros

Opportunities to learn a lot. Accepting additional responsibilities is encouraged. People are willing to help each other out, particularly training new employees.

    Cons

Training is very informal, "learn as you go". Pay increases are very structured and give managers little latitude in being able to adjust an employee's pay if or when his/her skills grow.

    Pros

Public company with competitive pay. I felt the company was ethical and had ok benefits. lost of opportunity to grow

    Cons

Public company and when the investor says reduce the workforce, they do so, even though they are still making money and turning a profit.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Great company. Work Hard, Play Hard, expenses paid, company car, benefits good, disability, life, health, dental, 401K, matching up to 6% @ 50%, + Cash pension plan, Grow your territory be rewarded. stable on keeping jobs. if your looking for a challenge? You'll find it here.

    Cons

Sales goals most generally are reasonable, however if one blows the doors off in a given year.
The proceeding year's target will be last years sales, plus 5-10%.

The old adage is, if you make extra bonus, above plan. Put your money in the bank for next year your going to need it.

    Pros

Very integrated work, even at a low level, you're right in the action. Opportunities to deal with international companies, and get to know all suppliers well. Hard working and people always willing to take a second to answer questions.

    Cons

Moving upward in the company could be difficult. Make sure you get an offer in writing or they may renege on their verbal offer of extension.
