    Pros

Stable company with good pay and high probability for annual bonus in 10-15% range. Lots of opportunity for an optimistic problem solvers to flourish if able to surmount organizational challenges.

    Cons

Fueled by tribal knowledge of experienced work force, new ideas and fresh perspectives are often met with strong opposition. This could be a difficult barrier for some to overcome.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remain open to the ideas of individuals looking to make a difference. Work to remove barriers so these potential high performers can make a difference.

    Pros

Flowserve recognizes the importance of a welcoming atmosphere. They make an attempt to recognize the family aspect by doing a company picnic. Behaviors are rewarded and recognized. Praises are always given for a job well done.

    Cons

I have no issues except that the office space is a bit dark and there are no windows near me at all. It kind of depresses the mood a little bit.

    Pros

Flowserve allows you to stand on your own feet. Very flexible with minimum supervision with your managers. The sole ability to learn with mistakes is crucial for growth and development.

    Cons

Managers have a "pass the buck" attitude. The chance for applying your ideas are often overlooked by your superiors

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a better 90 day orientation for employees to feel more comfortable in their role

    Pros

There are great employees of all types. You could work with hard-working individuals who strive for excellence or with lackadaisical ones all in the same department. It is a wonderfully diverse place where anyone can feel included and welcome. The yearly bonuses are also a plus.

    Cons

The yearly bonuses are tied to other plants in the company who may not be doing as well as yours so you may not get as nice a bonus if the other plant is failing miserably.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the lackadaisical employees; they aren't helping, if anything they're draggin down the company's moral

    Pros

Flowserve is a truly global company with many talented people in the Finance organization.

    Cons

The main downside I see is the lack of mobility to move within the organization, which causes many talented individuals to leave the company....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should make it a priority to identify opportunities within the company for talented individuals, i.e., a formal rotation program similar to that used by world class organizations.
