I have been working at Fluke Networks full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Surrounded by really talented people who want to succeed and work as a team
    - The company treats associates well, is fair, and tries to do the right thing for people
    - Moderately-sized company, but also get the benefit of a larger organization in Danaher, which adds resources and career opportunities

    Cons

    - It can be complicated at first to understand the interactions of the different businesses, as well as how they all fit into the platform and Danaher

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Associates always appreciate being valued for our work and having new ways to grow and contribute - please continue to make this a priority at FNET!

I have been working at Fluke Networks full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

People are great to work with. Fun but quick internal activities related to seasons. Lots of team spirit and participation in team building activities. Work is consistent with little down time.

    Cons

Too many meetings make it hard to get the real work done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Explain processes and procedures to internal and external departments to better understand who the go-to people are for projects.

    Pros

Easy going and mentoring design manager

    Cons

    Only hire for contract

Company policy allows you to only work for one year, then you must take a 90 day "break" before coming back

    Pros

Smart people, out of the box thinking, nice work environment, treated people fairly and respectfully.

    Cons

They moved to Georgia and I didn't want to relocate. I thought they were a bit too conservative in rolling out new technology and enhancements for the client I worked on.

I worked at Fluke Networks as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

A solid core of engineers with high technical expertise, who guided me through my project. Pleasant work environment and plenty of opportunity to learn. After the internship finished, I had a conversation with my manager and was given specific and honest feedback, which pretty much matched my own assessment.
Overall I very much enjoyed my experience at the company.

    Cons

The company policy is that employees cannot provide professional references, so that was a bit of a let down. Otherwise, it was my first industry experience, so I don't have much to compare to.

I have been working at Fluke Networks

    Pros

While some would say technology is antiquated, it is actually pretty cutting edge for the 'space' in which FLUKE operates. The solutions are sound and the Engineering/Product resources are solid. Complex solutions can easily be sold with the right amount of collaboration and baseline understanding of Customer needs; i.e. basic selling.

    Cons

Compensation is not 'on par' with industry and it is hard to over-achieve based on sales plans. Ability to move up within the Company is not apparent or promoted at the lower level(s). It can sometimes feel as though you 'do your job and be satisfied' versus 'here is your path to the next level'.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the focus on technology upgrades and improve field marketing message. The product sells and the salesforce is committed. Committing accurate marketing resources to extend the reach of the product is the best way to improve revenue and internal customer satisfaction.

I have been working at Fluke Networks as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Varied and interesting work assignments over the different areas of the company. Great co-workers, very helpful and knowledgeable. You will learn a lot about the field if you work here and take some initiative.

    Cons

Good but not the greatest office tech (monitors, chairs, etc.), you could have a bad experience if you aren't someone that takes initiative in your job.

Some of the best -- and hardest -- work of my life.

I have been working at Fluke Networks full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The Danaher Business System is something to be admired and mastered. Ruthlessly keeps teams focused on results and chisels away at waste. The monthly management approach is employed and all departments; and has brought new levels of discipline to the associates in the marketing organization. My department has eliminated more than $250K in spending waste last year just by paying attention to the detail.

    Cons

This is not a place for the faint of heart. It is a tough environment if you are a) not growing fast enough or b) contributing enough to the DHR bottom line. You are constantly challenged to do more with less.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the big picture for driving growth; and make the hard calls.
