    Pros

At my store I get above minimum wage pay, 30-40 hours as a PT employee, management is alright, store and community around it are good in terms of behavior, easy to work your way up and become good at what your doing, and all the benefits associated with work with Food lion.

    Cons

Co-workers get lazy, high ups and their friends have a buddy system where two people work on one float, while the rest of us have to do it solo. Working every holiday, having to help the front end since they can't employ enough baggers to get carts.

    Advice to Management

Calm down and relax, not everything in the store is going to be perfect, but give us positive reinforcement and we'll try our best to get it as close to perfect as we can, and please, let us have some holidays off, some of us have families they like to spend time with.

    Pros

    Job put me through college

    Cons

Not a lot of opportunities for advancement. District managers and store managers played politics.

    Advice to Management

Have a path for all associates who have been there over 3-5 years. No goals or path for anyone.

    Pros

Fast pace, lots to learn, excellent overall experience managing staff and customers

    Cons

Pay scale is very secretive, advancement is almost always political. Support from mngmt is inconsistent.

    Advice to Management

Make base/ starting pay scale accessible to all employees, have neutral parties involved in advancement interviews (I.e. Manager from another district ) provide constructive criticism for those that are not chose to advance.
