    Pros

Great working with school schedules, fast paced environment, friendly associates, friendly customers, build good relationships

    Cons

Lot of workplace drama, good workers get taken advantage of, people not showing up for their shifts, company alters its strategy only to change it back to the way it was previously, hard to become a full time employee, hours can fluctuate greatly, never a set schedule, pay is below average

    Pros

Very nice people. Managers usually listened to your problems. They do not care what color, shape, size, gay, straight, or religion you are. Treat you all the same.

    Cons

Sales of the store depends on the amount of hours you receive. Didn't receive recognition for the things i did well at.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand not every employer is the same, some needs more time than others to understand certain situations.

I have been working at Food Lion full-time

    Pros

Customers are friendly for the most part, tuition reimbursement

    Cons

No union so upper management can do whatever they want. Also not to many opportunities for advancement for minorities at the store level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give some of the hard working minorities a chance at the store level and stop keeping people stuck in less compensating and important roles.

    I worked at Food Lion

    Pros

Your coworkers are most likely going to be friendly people who are understanding, managers for the most part will work with your schedule, if you are in school or have children, or develop an illness. It's an ok starter job for a high school or college student.

    Cons

Don't trust your manager too much; there are things that are not allowed in Food Lion specifically by corporate that store and department managers may get a pass doing (ex. deli manager eating in the deli, etc). If you get accused of breaking the rules, your manager may throw you under the bus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow the rules like everyone else, you may have a bigger salary but that doesn't make you better than anyone.
