I have been working at Foot Locker part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The discount is the only thing that is great but purchasing work clothes really takes your checks so you're basically giving it back to your company this company is terrible.

    Cons

The pay rate , dog eat dog company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's not really the managers. It's the district manager.

I have been working at Foot Locker

    Pros

    • 50%-off family discount twice a year
    • okay benefits, but nothing that amazing

    Cons

    • no opportunity to grow your career; a lot of empty promises and stalling between managers and HR
    • pay is not competitive; HR lies about doing market research and is awful at justifying why they underpay you
    • entire company is outdated and out of touch with current trends, marketing, and technology
    • lazy, inexperienced, and unqualified management that cannot provide clear direction or goals
    • management takes advantage of team; expects everyone to work long hours and dismisses people who ask for support or to be compensated
    • CEO and VP's only care about other executives; no appreciation for junior-level employees
    • boy's club mentality in the corporate office; women are openly treated as inferiors
    • multiple executives have made me feel uncomfortable/not safe, especially when they drink too much at office functions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    • your staff knows how to do your jobs better than you do

I have been working at Foot Locker full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

You get a 30% discount on the merchandise they sell in their stores

    Cons

The overwhelming amount of work and my managers are of no help. My direct manager doesn't know what is going on and barely gets by everyday.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more involved with the departments and employees and when you notice unhappy employees, take initiative and observe their managers/directors because most likely it's them and not the actual work itself.

    Pros

If you have a very good manager he or she will train you to be the best. The discount is about the only good thing you have here.

    Cons

Company does not care about the employees safety. Very hostile work environment and seems like only men work, hardly ever hire any woman. Hours are a joke most part timers get 9 hours a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to be more hands on. Stop doing your visits only 3 to 4 times a year.

I have been working at Foot Locker full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The best reason to work at Footlocker honestly is the employee discount and first dibs on shoes IF your manager allows.

    Cons

The pay at this company is HORRID. Whoever says it isn't is lying to your face. The pay x expectations is just terrible. As an assistant I made $8.75 plus 2% commission. You might see the commission on your check and you might not. As an assistant I dealt with conversion, add on sales, doing morning paperwork every morning, conference calls while the store was busy, closing paperwork, Tues & Thurs shipment by myself until someone came into work in the afternoon to help (shipment could consist of 30-90 cases). Stock room management, sunday payroll processing, weekly window display changes etc before even thinking about dealing with customers. This job wears on you mentally and it takes forever to move up within the company. I believe that the only people in this company are the one's that settle and are just to lazy to look for something new. You also deal with transfers that you aren't told of until they happen and you either accept or take a demotion. No matter how you leave the company, resign giving your 2 weeks or mutual agreement you are listed as un-rehireable out of spite. This company is great for children that like shoes but not for an adult looking to make a living

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less expectation for the terrible pay

    Pros

Relationships you build with co workers & cuatomers. Exciting product no doubt. Discount is good but you won't always get a discount on some releases

    Cons

The pay is horrible. You can make more money managing a McDonald's & for part time associates it is WORSE!!! The commission sucks..1% part time & 2% for Full timers. The company pushes for high performance but the way you are compensated you won't make much more than the poor performers. DMs, RVPs & HR are pathetic, they don't care & act as if YOU should feel blessed to have the job. You basically are giving the company a discount to work there just to get a discount on shoes. If you choose to work at Footlocker, be sure you get into reselling, hooking up clientele & anything else you can think of to hustle money cause they are NOT going to pay you what you are worth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop fatting your own pockets! The CEO made over 40 million last year while thw avg employee barely makes 8 an hr???? This is a pyramid top heavy company where only those at the top get taken care of while the large portion on bottom get nothing.

    Pros

Other employees are very nice, the work is too demanding for the little pay.

    Cons

PAY SUCKS! I'm getting $6.25/$7.25 and hour with commission only being 2.5% of a hookup (a shoe & a clothing article)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

RAISE THE PAY FOR PART TIMERS!!!!
