All hard work, nothing to show for it.

Sales Associate (Current Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsHires just about anyone. Fun, fashionable atmosphere. Friendly employees. Management works well with your availability schedule if you have other commitments including school.

ConsExpectations are set very high. Terrible pay. No benefits. Very poor management.

Advice to Senior ManagementI had a problem with discrimination on multiple occasions during work hours and I told my manager at the time of the incident. He claimed he had told the store manager and that they were going to address it but, three months have passed by and nothing has been done about it. My advice would be to listen to your employees especially for a special situation like mentioned.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Fun environment, however pay is not worth the hours or stress.

    Sales Associate (Former Employee)

ProsForever 21 has a cool and fun environment. The staff and managers are really fun to be around, so it makes work a little more bearable.

Cons10% discount can be seen as a pro but it really doesn't do that much at the end of the day. The low pay doesn't make up for amount of time and effort you put into the job...and believe me it takes a lot of work. The customers are probably the worst thing as they are very messy and don't care to make your job any easier. I really liked Forever 21 but I felt that in order to make a decent wage I had to put in way too many hours and even then I only got back between $200-300 per two weeks. Not worth it.

Good first job but can be stressful

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Pros*You get a raise every year, not by a lot, but it's better than nothing :)
*You get called in a lot when they're busy and need more ppl
*You can advance in the job
*It's not like some jobs where you only get 4 hr shifts. A lot of ppl get 5-8 hr shifts.

Cons*Closing sucks because you're still there almost 2 hours after the store has closed to clean up. Which is fine because that's what you have to do in any job, but their standards and how fast you have to be done is what's stressful
*It's not easy to just get a shift covered when you have to study for something. Sometimes you already found someone to cover your shift and have a good reason for needing it, and they'll still say no.
    *Can be boring

    Cashier

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsDepending on the store you work in, the managers can be amazing and helpful while others just want you to do your work. Opportunities to grow is slim unless you're amazing at all aspects of the store.

ConsLong hours, no over time when you do work over 8 hrs in a day. They make you log out at midnight and log in again at midnight so you are not working overtime. Certain locations, hard to get more hours unless people want a day off and you take their shift.

If you want a place to learn fashion trends and elements this is the place to learn.

    Store Manager (Former Employee)

    ProsSurrounded by fashion forward trends.

ConsNot enough support for coverage, Long shifts, and breaks are short, and everything is micro manage to the point you hate being there or your job.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed Support for a Open Door Policy, you need to look for people of all ages and walks of life. Leadership is extremely judge mental and no help for the associate or customer service

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Meh

    Forever 21 me

Visual Merchandiser (Current Employee) Chandler, AZ

ProsGood job for the experience working with fast Fashion. Trends and overall look of the store changes regularly.

ConsEmpty promises but no rewards. Once your getting close to 6 months they try to discourage your work performance even If your satisfactory just to get out off paying benefits and to get cheaper employees.
