Pros – people are generally nice and helpful.. the lab is very well prepared.. the cafeteria and the gym are very cool..
Cons – senior management is too busy to invest in their employees.. and the company has no direction.. it's very reactive to the competition..
Advice to Senior Management – pay attention to your employees.. invest in their learning.. share your vision with the engineering teams.. a little less politics would be nice..
Pros – Compensation was average to above average and benefits were average to above average. Relatively laid back working environment. Very structured and efficient production environment.
Cons – Not the highest level of technical ability, there were some very good people and some very poor people technically. If you are competent you can advance. style valued over substance by management.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on accomplishments and not activity or presentations. Value people of value, not people who sound like they have value. Eliminating dead weight will help with cost savings and efficiency.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
Pros – Peer to peer relationship. Some excited young guys work here.
Cons – Management doesn't really know where the company is heading
Advice to Senior Management – Budget smartly, keep the current people happy and continuously challenged.
Pros – Technically challenging if working on the right projects, smart colleagues, informal atmosphere
Cons – Grew big and successful too fast, Lack of systems and organization, frenzy of fast-paced development work instead of doing it right the first time.
Advice to Senior Management – Better organization and clearer communication on details (not just high level)
Pros – Interesting technology and smart coworkers.
Cons – Not much strategic direction fromsenior management. It does not seem that the management cares much about the employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Refocus the company on product excellence during this downturn. Drve product development thorugh a realstic development process.
Pros – Technology is very good and unique, work in general is interesting and dynamic, very talented and capable technical people. Although work load may not allow it at present, management is supportive of work-life balance as a principal. Fundamentally in a good niche market with high long term potential
Cons – Scrambling to regain market share, many parallel technical efforts being pushed without adequate staffing and resources - too hectic and dynamic. Attrition is getting to be high,
and in a place where systems are not in place, that is a significant loss of know-how, making it difficult for the persons remaining to carry on. Company grew too fast for its own good.
Company prefers to getting outsiders (from more established companies) for key leadership positions rather than growing employees from within.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to be more customer friendly,
Develop and promote from within,
Invest in systems to reduce inefficiencies and costly errors.
Develop competency in other areas in addition to spring technology.
Pros – Exciting Technology and Great commercial potential.
Cons – Inconsistent direction, ok strategies but bad follow-thru'. Significant issue with implementation
Advice to Senior Management – Stay true to course. Be consistent - changing directions destroy creditbility and undermine morale
Pros – Small city, close to cafe.
Cons – Far away, traffic is bad.
Advice to Senior Management – Move it to Dublin.
