    Pros

Job stability is good if one is ready to work for long for less pay and additional benefit if you are from china.

    Cons

Too much work without any proper understanding or requirements, quick fixing of work all the time, Chinese dominance, not many opportunities for growth unless you are of chinese descent, and pay is not great for the amount of work one does.

    Pros

The good thing is that the company is profitable. Everyone works hard and the result shows. Also management held meetings to let everyone know how business is going.

    Cons

Biggest problem for me was that I felt out of place since I'm not Chinese. Everyone worked hard, but it was hard to tell whether they really liked being there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the company a more desirable place to work.

    Pros

Decent starting salary, but they do not pay bonuses.

    Cons

Very cheap. They will not spend money where needed to grow the business or to keep employees happy. It is a family run company with Ken and Michael Xi calling all of the shots.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire yourselves if you want to grow the business. Seriously.

    Pros

Doing my job was up to me and I pretty much did my own thing. I had 3 managers in the year and half I was there.

    Cons

Promises of great wealth with IPO soon to happen, that was in 2005, and just now in 2009 they filed for IPO. They tried and take anything they have to pay for and reverse engineer it and build it themselves. No understanding of how to the day to day operations are to run at a company. When asked Ken one time about a calendaring system he said an employee could walk over to his cube and look on his white board, and others should do the same. yeah that works well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on your product and stop utilizing engineers time to reverse engineer other systems. Better use of company time resources.

    Pros

Fortinet catches a good timing in introducing gateway based antivirus solution and introducing unified threat management system. It is good to work for Xie's brothers for one year and then you should consider to leave.

    Cons

The management, especially, Ken Xie and Michael Xie would promise you lots of things when you are just hired, but finally nothing can be realized. This is a family company and lots of friends and family members of the Ken Xie, Michael Xie and Chairman David Tsang are key employees of this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire Ken and hire a new CEO just like Netscreen did, then this company will be successful.

    Pros

Decent salary, benefits and perks. Opportunities for experience.

    Cons

Poor executive leadership and decision making. Not in touch with the employees doing the real work to better understand how to make the company more efficient with proper resource management. The company will have trouble expanding while still continuing to manage with a small business mentality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Eliminate the US vs. THEM mentality within certain groups and divisions. Teamwork and an open mind are important for content employees.
