I have been working at Four Seasons Health Care

    Pros

I get to meet new people and befriend co workers. i get to do my 36 hours in 3 days.

    Cons

back breaking work. hard bosses who apoint blame. moaning between day staff and night staff about who didn't do what. loads of responsibilities and unreal expectations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

sort the rotas propperly to avoid staff shortages, better pay for unsocial hours, assess residents who need manual equiptment to avoid staff having to maul. order appropriate numbers of consumable equiptments, such as gloves and pads

    Pros

Close to home. love working with the elderly and making their lives more comfortable, good range of service user needs being met.

    Cons

stressful, lack of management, low staff morale, unsatisfactory care given to residents, not enough support given to staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

please review complaints procedure, staff disciplinary procedure. there are very good staff leaving due to mistreatment

I have been working at Four Seasons Health Care

    Pros

The good thing is looking after residents

    Cons

There are no perks, cannot get holidays when you wish, no extra for nights and weekend, if you work beyond finishing time to attend to residents no extra pay, management do not take decline of residents physical needs, into consideration, far too much paperwork very repetitive, not paid for all bank holidays.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop blaming staff look at your own practice, be more respectful towards staff, do some shifts on floor to see how hard it is for carers, no time off policies could go on and on no space

I have been working at Four Seasons Health Care full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I work with SOME great people (sadly not all) and the residents are lovely.

    Cons

Staff are taken on to fill staff shortages - many are unskilled. The training is inadequate and inconsistent.
Poor carers are training new staff - which yields poor standards of care.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the training strategies within the homes and understand that e-learning does not fulfill everyones needs.
Pay all staff a fair and decent wage - dont pay the head chef almost as much as a trained nurse, then pay your senior carer the same as the pot wash!!! Reward staff for their hardwork and dedication. Reward those who are doing their jobs well and exceed expectations. Coach and train those who are struggling - its a tough job in ALL roles - not just care. Give people the chance of advancement,
TRAIN THEM PROPERLY - PAY THEM PROPERLY - APPRECIATE THEM!!

I worked at Four Seasons Health Care full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

When I worked there, I was blessed to have an excellent team and nurse. They taught me so much I went on to train for registration.

    Cons

There is a bullying culture. This being a reason I left. Having your views and concerns disregarded is terrifying especially when they concern the service users and their care.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The audits and "spot" checks are not a surprise the staff clean and prepare endlessly for the checks. In order to get a true feel for the level of care provided surprise checks need to be done. Especially on a night time!

I have been working at Four Seasons Health Care full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The residents are great, that's the reason I go to work! The management team at my current Home are reasonably supportive.

    Cons

Pay is poor, no benefits such as sick pay. A culture of favouritism and hiring a number of employees from the same families. The work is heavy, not enough hoists or equipment. Bullying is tolerated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward your staff who stay by introducing more benefits

I worked at Four Seasons Health Care full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

the residents, decent working hours, enough holidays,

    Cons

little to no training, no help, understaffed, under disciplined, not upto date, 1 hoist and 49 residents

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

put in place discipline to staff whodo not pull weight, hire more staff, get the nurses to help when understaffed, get more training, healthier foods, more options of entertainment needed, higher budget for entertainment/activities.

I have been working at Four Seasons Health Care full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I have worked for this company for a few years! some really nice staff, lovely residents. enjoy going in to work to see the residents as they brightening your whole day.

    Cons

management don't care, they lie, lots of bullying between some staff.Management are all full of false promises with no intention of following through. Management don't listen or follow through when complaints are made about bullying. E learning is a load of rubbish, there should be proper practical training for everything. bad staff get away with everything, good staff never get the praise they deserve. I can't wait to leave this company, and I will NEVER let a member of my family enter this care home.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start listening to your good staff that actually care about their residents!

I worked at Four Seasons Health Care full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The staff are fun to work with and keep morale up, residents are also the light of the day with great laughs but also still remaining professional in your work

    Cons

Home manager & house admin aren't very "Team Friendly" and near enough always take the side of the Nurses whether they're right or wrong which obviously decrease moral & work efficiency .. Also a lack of supplies like gloves, pads etc

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just need a home manager who is a team player and wants the well being of their residents & staff
