    Pros

Left to get on with it. Good in terms of autonomy but could do with more help and supervision earlier in my job

    Cons

Confused messaging and leadership during recent changes. Don't get much/any chance to see senior management and hear mixed reports on them

    Advice to Management

    Get a grip!

    Pros

I have worked in the nursing home for many years and have made good friends, with other staff and with relatives of residents. i am now retirement age but prefer to continue to work and Four Seasons allow me to do so. I am bank staff so have choices.

    Cons

In a situation like the nursing home where there are a number of women staff there are bound to be frictions of personalities.
The manager has a lot of responsibility and could sometimes handle things better

    Advice to Management

The manager should be on the floor as often as possible to observe laziness in staff.

    Cons

too many chiefs and not enough indians !!!!!!!!!

    Advice to Management

i think some people do not understand their job role and maybe a reminder across the board may benefit the working environment so that everyone is working on the same page

    Pros

Effective Teamwork, Great E-Learning, Generally Modern Facilities

    Cons

Minimum Wage, Lack of resources such as wipes and pads, Lack of Career development, I also felt that even though a structure is in place for complaints it wasn't always effective and this has had serious consequences in some cases. Staffing issues have led to dangerous situations.

    Advice to Management

I would say that upper management needs to come on the floor more to see what works well and what isn't. They also need to listen to the feedback from carers. I felt during my time in FSHC that lower management were always trying to cut costs and not always in a good way i.e three crackers with cheese for an evening meal with milk jelly afterwards isn't filling enough for us, let alone an older person who won't eat again till 8am the next morning.

I found that the staffing ratios were wrong and didn't take into account that some residents required 1-1 care. Although I no longer work for FSHC, I do agency work and continue to go into your homes and see this same problem. It's the most horrible feeling being the only person on the floor and having people asking for help, but you're unable to because you're the only person (excluding a nurse, doing meds) on the floor.
