I worked at Fox Rothschild full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Compensation is commensurate with market rates, and they offer adequate benefits with a generous amount of time off per year. Projects were stimulating and professional development is promoted and encouraged.

    Cons

Inter-departmental politics were a nightmare. Managers and directors are extremely protective of their domains such that completing even the smallest projects took many months and sometimes years. Management also seemed to value rules and process much more than quality work product which became extremely discouraging and somewhat oppressive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your professional staff as professionals. Allow them a modicum of flexibility when it comes to work hours and telecommuting.

    I worked at Fox Rothschild

    Pros

There could have been some Pros to list few years back but not much now. Compensation isn't that bad but not great. Good amount of training is offered.

    Cons

Benefits are extremely costly! There isn't a friendly environment, morale is horrible. My experience and have been told of the experience of others that the attorneys we work for (not all but most) do not treat us well and not understanding of situations. Upon review time, they can say whatever they want and will be believed by management, regardless of the fact that they're wrong, which affects our raise. Basically, what they say goes, your opinion doesn't matter. Time off was reduced /taken away for employees who have been with the firm 10 yrs or less, yet the employes who have been with the firm longer kept their generous paid time off. That did not go over well but nothing changed.

    Pros

The people on the staff side, Finance, Marketing, HR, were terrific. People treat one another with respect, and listen to what you have to say.

    Cons

The attorneys and partners weren't quite so respectful, have an arrogance like I've never seen before. It's almost unbelieveable -- even young attorneys just coming into the practice fresh out of law school have this arrogance and 'you will do everything I ask attitude' or you'll be fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tone it down some, everyone deserves a little respect ...it's all anyone really wants while working in a 'supposed' professional environment.

I loved the work that I did, but did not like the overall culture.

    I worked at Fox Rothschild

    Pros

The work was rewarding and challenging. The professional staff was great, and there are a lot of great people who work at Fox.

    Cons

There is a culture of disrespect - most notably from the Associates and Partners back to the professional staff and more importantly, the Legal Admininstartive Assistants were treated horribly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get yourselves a better benefits package and distribute the costs better. The new employees bear the burden of all those above them who are getting huge discounts on their premiums due to length of service and job.

No room for advancement and the firm has taken away lots of perks and benefits from the staff.

I have been working at Fox Rothschild

    Pros

People are nice. Bosses are nice and so is management. Work atmosphere is nice and clean.

    Cons

A number of different departments that employ numerous people yet it seems as if each one of those individuals can handle only one task and most work (i.e. marketing, billing, etc.) is handled by assistants which is not usually how large firms operate. Most times, firm will hire an outside person before promoting from within. Recently, staff members have had to sacrifice summer hours, OT, some personal time and vacation time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Moral is at an all time low. Have some sort of incentives for employees to want to stay there.
