    Cons

work is not always good, training is not good

    Advice to Management

Please review the hiring policies. People with different backgrounds and qualification are hired at the same position irrespective of their knowledge and value they bring in. Infact some people with higher qualifications are hired at lower positions. There has to be some difference between a graduate and a post graduate. In some cases even post graduate with good work ex are taken at par with a simple fresh graduate on the reason of no experience. This is like saying you wasted 2 years of your life trying to have better knowledge. Such higher qualified people are then put under leads who are less qualified or are not upto the mark to provide good learning or add any value to these candidates. Infact in some cases, analysts are more learned and handle the entire project whereas leads are not really able to guide with any useful thought process. Also there is a problem of project allocation within the organisation. Once someone has qualified for the job and been recruited for a certain position it should be equal opportunity for all. Its good that projects are open for all but what happens is that managers give preference to a person who is from IIT's or they ask do you know a certain software. Even in the case where candidate has a training and is willing to learn he is expected to have a hands on a project(specially in case of freshers). Only irony here is when the induction happens and everyone goes under certain training, why do then such differences exists. And the candidate who is not given the opportunity to learn and grow gets caught into a cycle where he/she either choose to do what the boss says(repetitive work), go to another team(all hard work of building trust) or forget all about promotion and hikes and do what he likes.

    Pros

    Great culture, friendly colleagues.

    Cons

Salary differs a lot especially in the apex group. It is not based on the value that one brings to the table. Lateral hires / people close to EXEC are being paid way more than the others (how does one explain a variation of 10-15 lakhs at the same level). This is leading to a breach of trust and discontent. This is precisely the reason salary bands are not made public for the apex group (size is greater than 100 and hence there should not be any privacy issues). Company in the field of analytics is failing to understand such a simple logic – market realities are fine but do not penalize the existing set of people. Don’t assume that the differences are not known, if it is not corrected soon the same would show up in work and hence business would suffer hugely. Similarly, there is again no rationale or transparency behind allocation of ESOPs. Some of the great EXEC members have ridiculously given more to their favorite people within apex. Why can’t the company make its stance clear? One key objective is accumulation of wealth (amongst others) and the same is getting mowed down by mindless arrogance and high handedness of senior management.

    Advice to Management

Suggestion: Both things have to be corrected asap, esp for apex, and with great deal of transparency. Please don’t bring in the rationale of market realities; no one is a kid out here. Otherwise be ready to carry on with discontent apex group and mediocre work.

    Cons

Cons 1. Teething, but frustrating operational issues 2. Lets not change things until there are many complaints attitude 3. Unhealthy combination of speed and quality management Advice to Management 1. Build some hierarchy in the system and a clear escalation mechanism 2. Communicate expected role and responsibility upfront and provide adequate time, direction and support to execute

    Advice to Management

Srikanth its a humble request to you. please try to retain people don't let them go. We remember u spoke last time about it is 2% of resume gets shortlisted so we have so many good hires in the company who are leaving and we dont think Fractal will get this Talent in future. We are facing huge shortage of talent in projects since earlier analyst were trained and projects were getting executed wonderfully now we think we should take a step forward and try to listen to issues Analyst and SA issues. We dont think salary is a huge factor in attrition. I think senior management is not taking this attrition seriously. You should have a meeting with APEX team now to get to the reason for attrition. 60+ resignation we remember you spoke when you was in Gurgaon. Please Srikanth do something about this. We will face lot issues going forward in getting the right talent for the client we are acquiring forward. Don't let people quit.Solve the issues and try to retain them Now We think we are people letting go

    Pros

Used to be one of the Best organizations to work, currently in a downtrend. Still retains the DNA but needs to get its act together fast to stop the rot

    Cons

Less Projects, which leads to massive under utilization of current employees. People are hired externally with internal employees not getting adequate projects or opportunities. Current employees pay the price of this mismanagement with instability in their careers and their variable cut out.

    Advice to Management

    1. Please utilize the internal workforce to the best , before hiring externally. 2. Example other organizations promote internally. Please offer Apex/ SC Opportunities to internal people before going on externally to hire.(Best Retention Tool of various organizations).

    Pros

    1. Work Life balance is excellent. 2. CEO is very inspiring. One of the major points why I am in this company is due to his vision. 3. Good for fresher's. There is a lot of learning scope. 4. Flexible timings. 5. Employee freedom.(After a particular level) 6. People's Principals 7. Food and snacks for employees. 8. Talented people but in limited quantities Overall the company takes a lot of care of their employees and try to makes sure that they are comfortable at work. Once a fractilite always a fractalite.

    Cons

    1. Big pay differences between IIT and other colleges due to which talented people don't get their due. Hope they work on this and fix this so that current employees remain motivated. People should be judged on talent and not "Campus". 2. Space crunch in Gurgaon office. 3. Middle management is not worried about the projects and don't bother to check with others about the same.( Exceptions are always there). 4. Very few projects are analytics based. 5. Mis use of people principal is very much there. 6. Its been a while since company has been there but some aspects still remain like that of start up.

    Advice to Management

    1. Talent should be given more importance than campus. 2. CEO is a great leader and hope middle management support him in his vision. 3. CEO should have more connect with Analysts and SA atleast once a year to know their problems. A personal interaction would be great. 4. A suggestion box where employees can put in their ideas and suggestions. 5. Please provide employees with better trainings to keep up with technology. Srikanth is doing a great job. Keep taking fractal to greater heights.

    Pros

-Very flexible and friendly working environment and awesome culture. -Easily approachable senior officials. -Feels like the best environment to work in.

    Cons

-Some projects are very repetitive in terms of the nature of work and thus offer a stagnant learning after a certain stage. -Few onsight opportunities. -Salaries not upto the level.

    Advice to Management

Please allot projects to freshers in accordance to their demonstrated skills and abilities rather than randomly putting them in any of the projects and it would be better to define a more effective structure of salaries because as far the present scenario, it is too absurd and non-directional. It would be better to increase salaries and match industry standards for the same.

Friendly and young people. A company where you colleagues can be your best friends Some of the projects are really good in terms of work Freedom to do your work like you want to do Relaxed and care free atmosphere Trust

    Cons

HRs : Well these are the most vella people here whom you'll always see as typing on their laptop. You wont know what they exactly do. For the period of 12 months I never got to know what they really do. Not even one policy of theirs had any effect on me or i got to know of any policy of their which benefits people except people principles (which comes from Srikanth and not HRs). Even in gurgaon two bikes got stolen from office and HR did nothing (absolutely nothing) to boost people's morale. Infact it was the admin department which took some action in terms of listening to employee as to what exactly happened. But from HR point of view no help, no action, and the show goes on. We only get to see HR's face or get to interact with them either on team outings or when we resign. No cab facility after late work hours. You have to book your cab by yourself and you can claim it but then where is the safety. Project planning: At times projects have a very crunch timelines which is why people have to extend and work more than 12 hours a day. Poor employee development or no trainings at all: If your project is not good in terms of analytics, well you will be at the same place after a year, or even get degraded, given the fact that you joined and now know nothing after a year. When I joined this place, they kept on talking that soon they will have an effective training plan. Its been more than a year and still everything is same. Infact after an year, recently they have initiated a process. But 1 year for that process to be just initiated. Wow! very quick. Feedback process is such that even if you work very hard and you aren't on good terms with your manager or other leads or they have a preference for someone else, end result is that you wont get any benefit. You will get to see people with high degrees and splendid education background at high position but nothing inside their head. Will realize that its not the degree that adds values to your mind but its your hard work and thought process which takes you ahead in terms of thinking. Given this fact these people get good levels like Senior Consultant/AD and have no idea of what is analytics or even how normal regression modeling works and mind you these people are from statistics background :D

    Advice to Management

I am disappointed with the HRs and the way some things didn't click for my stay to be fruitful. I did learn a lot but then I wanted to stay here for a longer time. People principles are a big misconception. They aren't followed in many projects I think CEO knows it very well where the gap lies.
