    Pros

Small Team get to work close with the CMO and create new marketing opportunites. Frankly Covey stock has been rising over the past two years so the company is getting better.

    Cons

Not a very exciting job. Franklin Covey is starting to become a new company but it still feels very 90's corporation but that is slowly dying.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bob Whitman this CEO is great! All of the C-Level executives are great.

    Pros

Great people to work with who love the content. Opportunities to contribute to content development. It was very flexible with me but that depends on the department. The content produced will help throughout a career.

    Cons

The organization is very flat. At the end of each quarter and each year there is an enormous amount of pressure to hit numbers and it sometimes feels like that is more important than anything else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider how much the end of quarter pressure is affecting the culture. Start thinking beyond traditional ways of doing things. The world of consulting and training is changing.

    Pros

Greg's team is awesome to work with. He's a great boss who doesn't micromanage, and really tries hard to put his guys in a position to succeed. The rest of his team is the same, no competing interests, just everybody working hard, and often wearing too many hats, but making sure everything gets done the best to their ability.

    Cons

Outside of the team, the upper management has unrealistic expectations. They want everything cheap, fast, and super high quality. They need to learn that you can't have all three.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your developers more, they are very solid guys who know what they are talking about.

    I worked at Franklin Covey

    Pros

    - Access to world class training content and programs.
    - Honesty, hard work, and integrity are promoted and rewarded.
    - Competitive and fair compensation packages.
    - Noble mission (to enable greatness in people and organizations everywhere)
    - Global reach and relevance / fairly well known brand
    - Fun incentive programs and yearly company meetings

    Cons

    - Not very much room for career advancement as far as upward movement (it takes a long time)
    - Employees are not the best example of practicing what we teach in our training programs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would recommend doing more advertising in various mediums in order to increase brand awareness and improve reputation as training/consulting provider. Do what is needed to change image from "The Planner People" to the "Our Training Programs Are Super Effective"

I have been working at Franklin Covey

    Pros

Its a very professional environment for a retail job. Lots of chances to meet highly successful people and network. Very personalized and one on one sales so it doesn't feel like a robotic cashiers job. Most of the customers who come in are intelligent and respectful taking your advice seriously which makes it feel like a

    Cons

You are judged primarily by your average sale which is dictated by corporate to be in the 50-60$ range. There is so much pressure and constant nagging to maintain those numbers which leads the sales people to get stressed out and try to push useless stuff on customers just to add a dollar to the average sale. Management does not take into account that sometimes circumstances (time of day, economy, etc.) make those goals impossible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate: Listen to the people who are working in your retail stores. They understand the products, know what sells and what doesn't. We have conversations with people all day long about what they're looking for in organizational products, and could offer so much advice on how to improve the marketing efforts and the products themselves.

    I worked at Franklin Covey

    Pros

FranklinCovey has some of them most incredible, talented, hard-working people you will ever be around. You will be inspired by the integrity that the front line workers bring to the table. FranklinCovey is very good at balancing work and life and very good at understanding family comes first.

    Cons

Compensation wise don't expect to get anything more than a 3% raise yearly and maybe a $300 bonus if the company feels like it. The upper management levels receive "variable pay" based on performance on top of their base pay and they hold that sacred - to the point of decreasing workforce to protect it. The absolute most frustrating thing you will experience is going to the seminars that FC sells (i.e. 7 Habits, Leadership, Execution) then realizing that the company follows none of what it teaches.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plain and simple - PRACTICE what you PREACH. Your fundamentals work, there are plenty of case studies to prove it. So, why not practice them from the top of the organization to the bottom?
