Pros – The friendly co-workers, enthusiastic management, casual atmosphere and exciting growth opportunities make this an ideal company for which to work.
Cons – As with all young successful companies FreeCause is experiencing a few growing pains. However it’s nothing they can’t handle especially since they are attacking them head on.

Pros – It's centrally located in downtown Boston. We do monthly team-building events which almost always include some sort of happy hour. In terms of other employees, you are basically surrounded with some extremely intelligent, hard-working people. Suggestions to improve may not always be taken, but they are listened to and given serious consideration. They also have been doing a much better job at recognizing and rewarding hard work.
Cons – Since the company only hires the best and brightest, it seems the team is thinly spread at times. There's also a lack of education for new hires to learn about the industry that the company is in.
Advice to Senior Management – Management needs to do a better job at leading the interdepartmental communication efforts. Sometimes everyone is so busy working on their own projects that they don't realize how much it is, or could be, effecting other areas of the company.

Pros – The environment at FreeCause is a good balance of start-up culture and professional work environment. The company cares about making sure employees enjoy working here, with monthly company outings, weekly lunch, generous pay, great 401k matching/bonus structure, and a young, fun culture. Most employees all work in one big room, which is fun but not for everyone, especially not the distraction prone. Management is good at providing feedback. Things are very fast paced with many projects going on at once. Weekly company meetings provide very transparent insight into company finances and lines of business, the management structure is relatively flat and all employees are co-located and accessible. As a technologist, you have ample opportunity to work with cutting edge technology, agile development methodologies, and unlimited snacks and soda!
Cons – If you're not comfortable working with collaborative teams, younger (and generally less experienced) employees, and working in a large, open room, this is not the environment for you. Holidays and vacation is lower than at most companies.

Pros – Free food and drinks 24/7; very casual attire; mid-day break for gym, errands; start-up environment; flat organization; fast growth; smart people; monthly company events; fun Holiday parties; $500 Employee of the Quarter; big year-end bonuses; good benefits; tuition reimbursement; big plasma screen in lounge; exciting clients
Cons – pressure to be profitable every month even though we are targeted for early stage, fast growth; we need to hire ahead of the growth curve
Advice to Senior Management – thanks for sharing all the company financials and information each week; I haven't worked at another company who is that transparent
