    Pros

    there are no pros at all

    Cons

    the employees at the corp office were immature and paid way too high. Management and executives were a joke. Not a lick of common sense between them.

    enough with the micromanagement - stop lining your pockets - stop hiring who your sleeping with at the moment

    Pros

    -Complimentary breakfast and lunch Monday to Thursday
    -Free Porn
    -Opportunity for advancements if you stay at the company long enough

    Cons

    -Porn is visible at every corner of the company. If you are not comfortable to see graphic human private parts, don't even think about work for this company. Compliant about sexual related stories happen at the HR department frequently. Lots of lawsuit against the company.
    -Favoritism is a norm in the company. Most executives have low or no education and no prior experiences on managing people nor a department before join the company. You can start out as a temp, then hired as a VP if you know how to please the top executives. If the higher up executive likes you, you will get bonuses for no reason, additional PTOs, multiple promotions, free excess to the porn sites, work couple hrs a days and get pay in full...
    -Low moral - most people there to collect their paychecks, no one seem to care for the company.
    -Extremely Poor management. The exec. spent millions to acquire bad companies and hired lots people. In less than a year, laid off the same number of people hired and closed down the acquired companies. The exec have no idea what they are doing and no directions. Unfortunately, the employees suffering from it. Regardless how long you worked there, the severance is two weeks.

    Don't ask your employees to be accountable unless you do the same!!

    If you are into politics and gaining success from it. This is your place!

    Cons

    Politics rampant within the entire company. Bully emails from CEO. I can't tell you how many of them I have forwarded to friends that are not employed at FFN. They are always shocked.

    Your employees mirror your leadership. Epic fail.

    too many at corporate - the daycare attitude - the micro-managing, the security of the office supplies vs the integrity of the network / information; the segregation of favorites vs other employees, etc., etc, etc

    pay well for good / qualified people - loose the friends that are only in the position they are in because of friendship and nothing else

    * Ample parking
    * Coffee & Tea
    * An impressive company christmas party.

    Cons

    * Bizarre possibly chemically imbalanced (or "enhanced") management that likes to yell (or whimper) over random things
    * Poisonous politics
    * disorganized multiple groups filled with demoralized people
    * random waves of layoffs
    * if the Klingons were real and managed an IT company this would be it

    Free parking. Free gross food.

    Cons

    People thought it was bad during the days when Andrew Conru ran the company, but it only got even worse (and slimier) after Penthouse bought the company.

    Upper management are all men, and unabashedly sexist in both their hiring practices and the way they discuss female employees behind closed doors -- there's already been one high profile sexual harassment case that was settled out of court (look it up). The company has been sued so many times you'll lose count trying to keep track, and the employee turnover rate is the highest I've ever seen. The most talented people leave because of the dysfunctional work process and abusive environment, and new hires quickly have their morale crushed within weeks of signing on - it's not uncommon for new employees to voluntarily quit within their first 4 weeks.

    You're all beyond hope.

    Before start going into details, I tell you the work is not challenging. You look at their sites, services and products. You tell me how complicated or challenging it is

    This is a matured company, but it does not have any thing in place; here are some examples: No product planning (management says we should that; we do it). No release system (that means bugs are everywhere; time waste in FINDing root cause of bugs is a big issue). No test / dev environment ( that leads to fix of one bug is another bug). No unit test framework (keep finding root cause and fix bugs baby). No bonuses (obviously, doing extremely good jobs does not result to any reward). No raises (no wonder why people leave every 2yr). No fun (there was an team outing last week; it was 15 miles away from the office and it was during the worst traffic hours; No wonder why 15-20 out of 70s went). Public flames on internal mailing lists directed at you, your team, etc. A culture of "blaming someone else" - the people responsible for problems get away with everything, those who implement the bad decisions are blamed for everything. A classic "toxic corporate culture". Run and run as fast as you can

    No telecommuting. This is not entirely true because if you are your boss's pet you can WFH.
    Be prepared to sit in one of the very uncomfortable meetings where your boss is screaming at you (or your coworker) in front of everyone else and tell you how suck you are at your job. Btw, your boss will privately apologize to you after that to make you feel better and happy to work for him/her again.

    Be prepared and don't be shock if your boss is praising your work privately, but when it's time to deliver results in front of the audience, if there is someone starting attacking your work, your boss turn around and no longer be on your side. So if you are loyal, it' will be heart-broken because even your boss is not behind to support you when things go south. Wait, the boss supported and praised your work earlier right? Yes, but I guess it's politics and to cover their azz, they turn around and blame you for doing a poor job.

    they just started to tell everyone it's time to put unit test framework in place. I hope it's not too late.
    Be responsible for your team. Don't embarrass your employees in public. Respect your employees. If you want people to go out and have fun, pick a place/time that is convenient. Don't make people feel like you announce there will be a team outing, but you don't want people to go to save company money.

A classic "toxic corporate culture". Run.

    Learn professionalism. It's not something you can learn in a book or seminar. You have to associate with and learn from professional people. Clearly that never happened here.

    Pros

    A culture of promoting entry-level employees in Customer Service to higher positions. Management recently did first offsite training seminar in 14 years.

    Cons

    Longtime corporate culture of mutual distrust and suspicion between management and staff. Huge staff turnover and low morale. Impetuous and rushed product development based on imitation, never innovation. Sites riddled with buggy spaghetti code. Tried for IPO several times but could never raise enough investment for an offering. Almost no telecommuting allowed. Middle and upper management frequently has little or no training nor experience elsewhere. Serious allegations of compromised H&R department. Numerous security cameras due to theft of company property and coworkers' property. Mediocre health plan.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire the best management consulting firm, ask them how to fix the dysfunctional environment and structure, and implement everything they say.
