Former Employee – worked at Frito-Lay as an intern for less than a year

Pros- The pay for HR interns is outstanding ($2,500+ bi-weekly and a $5,000 relocation package).
- Very strong brand to put on your resume
- High potentials are moved around a lot (lots of relocation checks and ability to get great experiences

Cons- Very difficult to survive without a strong network (not bad in and of itself but who you know is sometimes more important than what you can do)
- Hours are sometimes extremely long

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Fayetteville, TN

Current Employee – been working at Frito-Lay full-time

ProsGood starting salary, bonus. Hourly employees are super!

ConsWork required on weekends, holidays. Leadership does not support front-line managers or understand the realities of their jobs. Too many managers told "you're next" for promotion to the same jobs.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe real with your teams; support their efforts and try to make it out to the production floor once or twice a year.

Riverton, UT

Former Employee – worked at Frito-Lay full-time for more than 8 years

ProsThier benefits are really good but a little expensive. Being an RSR sales rep, you can make alright money.

ConsThe company has been going down hill because of new management. You will work a lot of hours, holidays, and weekends. Their communication is horrible and it makes the job very stressful a lot of the time.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease work on better communication with your employees. Also, realize that your employees are valuable and are what makes the company money. If you respect and take care of them, they will take care of you. Frito Lay has gone down hill for sveral years now and most of your employees are very unhappy.

Dallas, TX

Current Employee – been working at Frito-Lay full-time for more than a year

Prosgood benefits and OK hourly wage

ConsYou work your butt off on holidays, 12-14 hours and then at the end of the week they make you cut your hours so you wont get overtime. they do this on Holiday pay also. There are no raises for seniority, only if you want to move up to a driver. You work every Sat and Sunday and every holiday pulling 2-3 shifts without OT.

Advice to Senior ManagementWe are the first people to react with customers and store management. We have so many things that customers tell us but the sales management could care less what we have to say. Its all a numbers game with them for bonuses.

Cleveland, OH

Former Employee – worked at Frito-Lay part-time for less than a year

Pros-Decent wages.
-Union.
-Good Overtime.
-Good job security once you get into the union.

Cons-Very little supervision. I worked at Frito for half a year, till I was attacked, unprovoked, by a particularly horrible coworker. He ran away from me, and I went straight into my boss' office to report what happened. After a rather pathetic "investigation", they fired both of us. Despite me being the victim, and not fighting back, I was fired for being attacked at work.

This lack of supervision also extends to their forklift drivers, who will speed around the warehouse, neglect using their horn, and act oblivious to their surroundings. Case in point, this is not a safe place to work.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo your jobs! Try to actually listen to what your employees are telling you, and put forth effort into your investigations. I know effort is hard, and there are only so many hours in a day, but you are playing games with people's live here.

Prosgood pay and benefits work freedom

Conschange is a constant associates need proper training to deal with this example going from bulk 24 to pre pick after working bulk for 8 years with only 2 days training is not good. its like setting that person up for failure.

Advice to Senior Managementput your associates first it could make the difference between a great route sales associate and failure
