I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time for more than a year

    Pros

none, objectives are so high, can not get commissions. People above have NO ILEC experience, Wireless experience does not count as that is retail and customers come to the retail stores

    Cons

Sales process to get a contract processed, you have to do all T's and C's, plus do all the SOW's, input into SF, and then get the contract rejection, are only some of the contract/compensation process issues

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire some people that know how to run Central Offices versus people that came from the food industry etc, Hardly any of the GM's have ILEC experience and do not understand engineering of the network, thus they do not understand how to fix/control too many users on the network.

I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Health insurance & rate of pay

    Cons

Time off requests to care for young children meet unreasonable efforts. Unreasonable Harsh discipline for any unmet objectives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let parents care for their children and stop making them choose between the company and their families. Also, let customer care be a part of the company agenda in a real fashion. This balance is just as difficult as the balance you have demanded on your employees work and life balance. You are failing at both. Happy employees make a successful company that thrives.

I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I have a job, and I like my supervisor. I can usually get the days off I need.

    Cons

Pay, the CEO, the benefits, horrible work processes, drama, and idiot management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn what your employees do before you choose what you're going to pay them. My department should be paid twice what we get paid.

I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

$20 an hour. 2 weeks of Vacation (that you can rarely use when you want to)

    Cons

For our last contract they cut our pay $3 an hour, made us pay for health insurance, cut our 401k and Pension benefits. The supervisors don't have a clue what the core workers do. Management is more worried that you went to the bathroom and forgot to log off your phone then when a co-worker is harrassing and threatening others. We have a Trainer that cuts and pastes training tips from another trainer and passes it off as her own. In fact the last time we had a new process, she only trained a 1/3 of the employees. We're forced to participate in Sales programs, when we don't interact with the general public.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire the local Manager and Director and replace them with someone who knows how to run an Assigment Center, not a Call Center.

I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's not the worst place in the world to work, but... I'm not generally a negative person, but I am finding it difficult to list Pros-

    -decent pay and benefits
-good people at the local level that actually care, want to provide good service and take care of customers
-It is satisfying when you are able to provide good service and deliver products that make a positive difference in the customer's business. But it takes sooo much effort to deliver.

    Cons

It's a very difficult environment to work in: systems & applications that aren't integrated, requiring repetitive entry of information and too much hands-on follow-up activity; cross-department support teams that pass the buck, don't communicate, and don't follow through. There is no quality assurance and the same people make the same errors over and over.

In many job functions, the company doesn't provide proper training or the tools to adequately perform the job function, which sets the employee up for failure and effects a poor customer experience.

The outside plant is in major need of rehab. Network performance suffers from high-utilization / severe congestion causing high packet loss - slow Internet - and very poor user experience. The company has a very poor reputation in many local area markets due to product performance, repair times, frequent issues on new installs, billing issues.

The product offering is limited and not competitive in speed/price. Very few reps hit their number. High-stress & mentally exhausting. Expect to work 50-60 hour weeks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership is too far removed from the field. Hire and pay for experience. Listen to feedback from lower levels.

Current Employee - Office Clerk in Rochester, NY

I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It will look good on my mortgage application

    Cons

I'm scolded for helping co-workers, I'm given 6 day work weeks with only 40 hours because I'm low seniority, the union makes it abundantely clear they don't care about new hires, there's no HR department conflict resolution because of the union

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We should be a team, we're not. And if Maggie sends me one more discriminatory holiday E-mail I will file against her for freedom of religion rights.

I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I can't think of anything good to say about working here.

    Cons

This company treats you like a piece of meat. Very poorly managed, with very poor insight into cutting edge products and services. They don't are about their customers or the communities they do business in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some people in management that understand the core processes and actually know the day to day businesses and how to address and correct inefficient processes and systems.

I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Only one. The Insurance benefits

    Cons

Time you on every work unit, so if you are helping a customer and late to break it brings your productivity % down and you will get coached on it. Timed bathroom breaks. HR is a joke, there is a "zero tolerance" policy of harassment in the workplace but a co-worker was threatened by another employee and that person is still employed. Unless you are harassing someone, your job is expendable. They will fire you at the drop of a hat. Also, they pride themselves on being 100% US based, but they contract out orders to 3rd party vendors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start caring about your employees safety. Also start thinking about quality not quantity.

    Pros

Good salary, reasonable benefits. People one interacts with at the Director level and below.

    Cons

Poor senior management (SLT); too much tactical focus, not strategic engagement!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow people to do their jobs and do not get involved in the minutiae of employee lives. Most people are doing outstanding work, allow them the freedom to do so. These are NOT your children, they are your most valuable resource.

I have been working at Frontier Communications full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pay is ok, benefits are also ok.

    Cons

Lack of organized managers, drug use in the workplace, constant arguing and bickering on the floor among coworkers. It was a real headache to walk into everyday. Management spent most days away from employees to actually keep any organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Drug testing, paying more attention to employees.
