    Fujitsu America

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsGreat middle management and co-workers.

ConsConsolidation of divisions currently causing lack of focus. Fujitsu America division shifting to more of a consulting lead organization with hardware drag. If you are focused on Enterprise product sales... consider another employer. If you are more focused on consulting services and can survive the current turmoil... probably a good place for you to land.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe shift to a consulting lead sales model will be viewed as a necessary adjustment. However, the consulting focus has significantly impacted any chance of being considered a significant hardware vendor in North America. Fujitsu Limited's requirements to dramatically increase their product sales will not occur with the confusion and uncertainty within the sales forces.

Fujitsu - a nice life to work here with limited growth

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsWorking at fujitsu is a good experience if you want to balance your life & work with a decent pay and benefits

Consprofessionally the scope of growth is limited and the management style is not agressive and very stagnant. lot of que from the japan

Advice to Senior Managementfujitsu has a good compensation and benefits but a more agressive management with communication and transparent vision for the company will help.

Good company to work for if you are willing to travel.

    Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
    Boise, ID

Prosgood health benefits, global company has a brand name

Consfocused on small group of big sized clients, job may involve lots of travel, job uncertainty

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide attractive options for employees who are willing to relocate to other locations such as Costa Rica, India or Middle East. The company needs to look for projects of all sizes, expecially in a down economy. Be ready to cut hourly costs to clients to get the foot in the door.

Fujitsu gives a decent balance of life

    Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
    Portland, OR

Prosnice balance between life and work. They treat people with respect.

Conscareer growth is not so great. training opportunities are not so great

Advice to Senior Managementthis company can grow faster if we use human resources in a better way. Reward or Fire should be adopted at all levels. Almost nobody gets fired for doing a bad job. Interview process is not so good. the screening should happen more professionally. If I get a chance, I would offshore the interviewing process to someplace where they can afford smart professionals to interview the candidates. Also, there should be "JUST IN TIME" training and offshore professionals should be able to train the candidates on what they need to do during bench time, etc.

OK-ish but it is time to change and adapt

    Solutions Architect (Current Employee)
    Bracknell, England (UK)

    ProsVery good hardware ranges
    Occasional technical training
    Good pension
    Amazing people

    Cons-Lower than market rate salary
    -Unfair 1-2-1 performance reviews
    -Non-stop re-organisations
-Management do wrong financial forecast at the beginning of the year then later realising it was unreal start cutting corners saying we are in lost. As a result all the budget gets slashed.
-Whole performance review is based on peer feedbacks and managers are desperate to downgrade your performance because they have been told that exceptional performance is unrealistic thing to obtain. If you have say 10 team objectives and a particular piece of work can only satisfy 7 of them you will be forced to take it, but then at the end of the year you will be blamed on performance review for not meeting the remaining 3 items. This is unfair because it is not employee's fault that he/she was not given a proper work. By other word if you are CSA3 and doing CSA2 piece of work due to absence of CSA3 related work then even if you do it exceptionally you will not be able to obtain exceptional performance. Moreover the whole performance review process is uncontrolled and manager chose not to honour any high mark to employees because they do not want to be grilled by backing them up later in front of their managers. Although there are procedure to follow nobody follow them.
-There are no or a very few company provided labs for architects to build their solutions which leads to multiple rework/project failures
-Instead of saying "follow/stick to the procedures" managers says "cover your back".
-You are just a body/number for your management

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your brilliant people.

Nice people but not too much community

    Software Engineer (Former Employee)
    Munich (Germany)

ProsThe projects I worked on were all very interesting, and I enjoyed working with the people in my team. Good mentorship from more senior employees, and generally, people are very friendly. Company also has very flexible hours and a nice work/life balance.

ConsWhere I was working, it tended to be a lot of older employees, so it's not a great place to work as a young person. Additionally, there's not too much culture within the company. Employees don't know very much about each other's personal lives and don't interact outside of company grounds.
