    Pros

Working with Future will teach you many aspects of electronic distribution. The company is privately owned which can be a plus. Long term employment there can be accomplished if you are a team player.

    Cons

Advancement opportunities are had to come by.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

One of the biggest things I liked about Future was the people that worked there. The interview was tough, but everyone was a well qualified candidate. Take that into consideration when they speak up, the employees know more than you give them credit for sometimes.

    Pros

During Dan Casey's leadership of EMEA it was a fantastic journey. He is not a manager but a LEADER to follow. He is experienced, inspiring, and he takes good care of people around. I could participate many useful trainings where I learnt a lot about sales, presentation skills, change management and leadership. These trainings and a book Dan recommended to us inspired me and led me to the decision to do an MBA. The company changed me and changed my life. I am very thankful.

    Cons

Sometimes badly thought-out KPI's. The vision of the company is clear, however the strategy behind is unknown and/or confusing. While a very much marketing driven company the fluctuation in Marketing dept is too high, which is causing loss of relationship at franchised suppliers and eventually loss of business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management is extremely experienced and intelligent. They do not need my advice.

    Pros

Endless learning potential. Opportunity for career building and changing within one building.
Some of the best friends you'll ever have will work here.

    Cons

Upper management tends to be quite dreadful and most have had their souls removed. Having said that; some of the best and worst times of my life took place there. You have to make Future your experience and always remember, take as much from the experience as you can. Use it all to your advantage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too far gone. Being that high up; you've no choice really in order to stay there.

I worked at Future Electronics full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of room to learn and grow through the on-site training sessions and invaluable personnel.

    Cons

Overly micro-managed. For those who don't require it, this can be a hindrance. Too much time is spent on reporting instead of putting the energy where it's needed - in the field with the customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward your people better as was done in the past. Return to a more personalized service structure within the company to embolden a sense of ownership.

I have been working at Future Electronics full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Big company with many opportunities IF you work for it. This is not a place you will ever stare at the clock bored and wondering what to do next. Lots to learn in the semiconductor industry as well as led lighting, renewable energy, rf and wireless and other focus segments. You are working in a team, but success comes to self starters that are motivated. HR does a good job to have free ice cream on Fridays in the summer, free coffee and tea always available, as well as many themed free food days such as apple pie and ice cream in the fall or iced coffee days. Cafe is really good. Pay is competitive.

    Cons

Depending on your job it can be difficult to keep up. Lots going on at one time. The company is entrepreneurial, but people have made mistakes so there are SOP's in place to prevent mistakes, but that can also limit possibilities to the point where some people have given up trying new things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Responsibility has been driven to the top forcing daily activities to take longer than they should while leaving employees feeling unmotivated.
