Current Employee – been working at GE full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – GE makes some truly great products - especially in their Healthcare and Power & Water divisions
At the entry and mid-career level they pay well and have competitive benefits
Cons – Management has the same political BS that is evident in most large corporation.
GE is a highly distributed corporation and it is quite common to have a team spread out across the US or globally and even your own manager in another part of the world. It is tough to have a team concept or unity in this setting.
Advice to Senior Management – Optimize teams locally instead of proliferating the world-wide model
Treat all team members the same regardless of geographic location - items like bonuses should be equally distributed regardless if one is the in the home office or a remote office
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
