I have been working at GLOBALFOUNDRIES full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good initial salary, no idea of future increases. CEO has a vision and is not afraid to tell it like it is. If we are not doing well he holds no punches. The amount of money they are spending on the Malta site is a good indiction they intend be around a while.

    Cons

Lack of training for simple dya to day tasks. Need to focus more on initial training of employees and not just getting them in the door. Hiring process is a little sloppy and needs more focus on communicating with applicants.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on emloyee satisfaction and understanding exactly what motivates your employees.

I have been working at GLOBALFOUNDRIES full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Compensation is very good and colleagues are smart and focused. With dedication and collaboration my colleagues and I have made a lot of progress with customers and business growth. The new CEO, Sanjay Jha, is focused on improving the companies technology and supporting the planned growth. My manager has been responsive and flexible, but this likely depends on who you work for. There is plenty of opportunity for advancement depending on the job you are doing.

    Cons

There is still some culture clash from combining 2 different semiconductor companies. It is improving, but there is sometimes conflict and combativeness. The people responsible are being held accountable so it will improve over time. The organization changes a lot since it is still coming together and there have been frequent management changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold people responsible for execution (or lack thereof) for projects. Too often project milestones and deadlines are missed which impacts customers.

I have been working at GLOBALFOUNDRIES full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Large company with deep pockets (the investment arms is going to pledge $10billion over the next two years). Interesting work.

    Cons

Little to know training what-so-ever, I was told by a senior manager to go look on youtube to figure out how to run a software application.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put training in place so your employees will be productive or else they will flounder in their current positions and quit in frustration.
