I have been working at GLOBALFOUNDRIES full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Great co-workers
    Good Cafeteria
    Good pay and benefits

    Cons

    Very poor Senior leadership
Executives demonstrate no real caring for the employees
    No culture to speak of
No or very little training for the job
    Depressing place to work
Company is out sourcing many jobs so a long term career may not be possible for many workers
Good people are leaving in large numbers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat the workers like you actually value them instead of just saying that you do
Get rid of all the dead beat management
Executive management needs to get in touch with what is actually going on at the ground level

    Pros

Decent pay for the area, diverse coworkers with unique backgrounds and levels of experience to learn from, occasional opportunities to learn new systems.

    Cons

Job is often not challenging, lack of focus and direction from management, management doesn't consider listening to junior technician's ideas for solutions, engineering feels rushed causing for more difficult operation of equipment and task completion, jobs that require planning often lack proper coordination.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate with your teams. Make goals and expectations clear.

I have been working at GLOBALFOUNDRIES full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    State-of-the-art instrumentation
    Good cafeteria
    Nice office furniture

    Cons

Managers follow the zero sum principle: if they make people under them look ignorant and inept, they think that they look wise and capable, so that the two factors add up to zero. This situation leads to a demoralizing work environment and fear of finger-pointing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Coach and mentor the people under you instead of just pointing out their weaknesses and mistakes in a humiliating manner.

I have been working at GLOBALFOUNDRIES full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Advanced technology and a chance to get in at the very beginning. If you can navigate the cronyism and work hard, opportunities abound for those with the right skills.

    Cons

Politics. Croynism. Toxic environment. I have seen too many capable new college grads fail to get the right training and see their early careers stagnate. I don't want to repeat what so many others have said before me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better show Sanjay you can change and be useful.

I have been working at GLOBALFOUNDRIES full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nice area, great coworkers, great cafeteria.

    Cons

Leadership is weak, have to rely on consultants fresh out of b-school to give them bad advise. Threatening atmosphere, focusing on small insignificant things instead of making quality product. Employee morale is horrible, everyone seems to be worried and looking for way out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your employees are the ones that can turn the company around. Treat them with respect and figure out how not to lose them

I have been working at GLOBALFOUNDRIES full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The ability to shape the process for a new fab.

    Cons

Too many people hired that are friends and family, supposedly experts in their field, but obviously not the fact Many people dissatisfied with first line management, and no interaction with middle or upper management who show a lack of concern for the front line troops. There is inconsistency between management and HR, management are puppets for HR.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you have people that are proven experts in their disciplines, then recognize them. The Fab is coming up on 3 years, you know who the go to people are. This is why people are leaving the company.
