    Pros

Picked up a lot of supplement knowledge that allowed me to help friends and family as well as myself.

    Cons

Can become a high stress job when keeping up with the sales goals on top of the various customers and constantly changing prices/mistakes delivered by corporate. We also get secret shoppers and are expected to work with no music despite often working in two's or alone.

    Pros

    Discount of the merchandise
    Work with some great people

    Cons

Store can get very slow in some locations
Management pushes GNC products too much

    Advice to Management

Please try to make the job more enjoyable by not pushing employees to sell certain products

    Pros

Very little....was left to work independently for the most part.

    Cons

Unreal hours and goal expectations. Poor pay for employees under me so high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Pay according to job description and offer full time employment with benefits to average sales associates again. Put the old commission program back into effect for all GNC brand merchandise.

    Pros

Work isn't too difficult. Sales are fun if you're into it, discount is good if you like supplements

    Cons

Corporate pushes sales numbers too hard, overdoes it. Gets boring on slower days, pay is minimum wage

  6. Solid Company to Work For

I worked at GNC (More than a year)

    Pros

You get to help people achieve their health and fitness goals, as well as gaining valuable sales experience. Another pro is that there is a commission system in place so you can earn more than your base wage.

    Cons

Sales goals can be stressful, RSD's and managers can sometimes be overbearing if you are under the wrong ones.

    Pros

Love my job. Actually like getting up and going to work.

    Cons

Doesn't pay enough at all for the amount of work you do.

    Advice to Management

Need to pay employees and managers more. High turn over rate, always short with staff which puts stress on the managers. If you want good people the pay for employees and managers needs to go up.

    Pros

The best part about this job is helping people reach their fitness goals. You meet a lot of different people who are at different levels of fitness, so it helps you become more aware of the rest of the issues that people deal with

    Cons

The pay is not that great if you work at a slow store. High volume stores are you best chance to make any kind of decent money.

    Advice to Management

Develop a way for associates to continue training if you want them to stay. Complacency is an ingredient that calls for high turnover and unmotivated employees.

    Pros

Commission based sales. Can make money if you are motivated and have a high energy level. Would recommend!

    Cons

there are some slow months that you may not make as much money because of commission sales. Can be bad.

    Advice to Management

maybe a higher base salary would help even out the months that you don't make as much money.
