    Pros

You can make great money if you are good at the job. If you are dialing consistently, you can make bank. You create your own hours each week, and it's an overall flexible and easy going work environment.

    Cons

Just takes some tough skin when people are uncooperative, but really there are enough nice people to outweigh the bad. You are confined to a desk and sitting/standing in one area. The job is boring, but allows you to read or do other things while you are working.

I have been working at Gallup full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I love the care supervisors have for their employees. Managers are heavily bonused on how well their team performs. The schedule is very flexible and I can't say enough good things about their tuition reimbursement program. Employee owned.

    Cons

You are only paid for time you spend on the phone producing. Essentially, you are paid per survey. Some managers become very stressed which limits their patience at times. Most of the time this isn't a problem but it does come up.

I have been working at Gallup full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Gallup has a very strong culture based on its science and research and a powerful mission. It is very stimulating intellectually with no shortage of new things to learn or explore. Diversity is increasing dramatically with international hires and offices.

    Cons

Based on the talent model, it is tough for some to switch roles or career paths midstream. Sometimes it is risky even to have the conversation unless you already know you are a fit.

I have been working at Gallup

    Pros

I have been with Gallup for several years, and there are many things that keep me here even with job offers from Fortune 500's (and yes, some of them would pay better):

Strengths-based culture that allows you be an individual

Ability to be a consultant and do what I love

Everyone is always willing to help if you have a question or a problem

Great "big" mission behind a lot of Gallup's endeavors (Education, World Poll, Well being, GMJ, etc)

Fun group activities with great participation (Corporate Cup is this week, other fun internal group events and community involvement)

High level of intellect....very smart people working here. If you're not smart, you won't fit in... but you'll be an even bigger misfit if you think you're smart but you're actually not.... I can see that in some of the very pretentious reviews on this site

Many opportunities for personal and professional growth (if you have talent and are actively seeking them...if not then you probably won't find them at Gallup)

    Well Being culture/emphasis on wellness

Great internal resources and employee assistance programs (financial, physical, technological, etc...)

Positive psychology...Gallup is full of people who have "positive" energy, and I love coming to work every day.

    Cons

Can be long hours at times (not unusual for a consulting company, in my opinion), you have to be sure you have a strong work ethic and that you enjoy & believe in your work. If you are looking for a 9-5 where you are just completing tasks, complaining about your work, not thinking and not taking any initiative, Gallup is not for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I appreciate how much I know you all care.
