    Pros

If you have decent repair skills you will spend a majority of your time actually repairing units, so if that is your passion then its a great position to be in.

Geek Squad corporate agents make decent utilities for certain fixes, better then most commercially available on the market.

    Cons

If you do knot have great repair skills (or can repair in decent time frames, cant be super slow) you will be working the counter (checking in units) 99% of the hours you work, instead of repairing them.

(Depending on location) With most retail environments, you will be micromanaged to death, drastically impairing repair times and quality of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please do not take Agents off of a repair they are actively working on for menial tasks that can end up causing errors in the repair.

    Pros

A really awesome place, i am surrounded by everything technology related, discounts, and monthly bonuses are amazing.

    Cons

challenges of working here are figuring out the customers concern about their computers, if you have had the proper training and if you study enough you will easily make it by. Reading a lot of reviews about angry customers and it just made me think, and wonder if the people have taken enough time to study their trade. you know like I have been taking IT classes and preparing for my A+ so a lot of the computer fixing stuff is just common for me and easy to do.

    Pros

    - Very driven by culture.
    - Great job security.
    - Genuine desire to see employees grow.
    - They work hard to make sure their employees have the tools they need.
    - While Best Buy may be struggling at times, the Geek Squad is constantly growing and moving forward.

    Cons

They don't seem to value their more senior employees when considering their scheduling needs vs. the needs of new hires.

    Pros

The discounts and accommodations are great, they are very flexible with school, the experience you gain is amazing, pay is competitive especially for someone starting out in retail, and there is a lot of room for growth.

    Cons

There are a lot of changes constantly going on with the company in which one must adapt, it can get stressful if you work in a high volume store. Remember, you are dealing with broken down computers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is great in the store i work. You guys always listen to my questions and concerns. You work very closely with your employees.

    Pros

Great Company to work for and has many benefits and perks! The position can prepare you for an IT project manager or another manager position in Geek Squad/Best Buy. Basically there is plenty of room for advancement in the company and can become a great career.

Working for Geek Squad was the best time of my life, and running my own team of unique agents and auto techs was a blast. I wish the company the best of luck, which I know they will continue to be successful.

    Cons

Best Buy makes too many changes to Geek Squad within small time frames. The changes can add nice benefits to the brand for the clients, but Unfortunately they consistently add many new burdens upon the agents with out proper resources or preparations from the company.

Clients can be rather rude and have no consideration for the agent that they are treating with no respect.
