    Pros

Good money. Good benefits. The work was not very difficult. Great fellow union employees!! Always steady work year round. Lots of overtime if you wanted the money

    Cons

Remember you are just a number. Follow the rules and keep your mouth shut or else. Very hot work environment. Extremely awful floor managers. No more job stability closing as many cereal plants as possible especially union plants .

    Advice to Management

Too many children running the company. Hire experienced people for management I worked for General Mills in Illinois for 26 years

    Pros

Lots of emphasis on helping MEAs develop. Plenty of opportunities with a wide range of experiences available. Good work life balance if you can manage yourself well.

    Cons

Gotta drink the cool-aid of company culture. If you cant manage yourself or if you find yourself with a poor manager you can easily work 50-60 work weeks without additional compensation. This is a company that has been growing for the last 50 years in the US. Because the consumer is looking for less processed food General Mills has stopped growing in the US. There is going to be a change in the company to deal with this and it is probably not going to be an easy transition for employees

It was a great place to work. Unfortunately the company decided to close the doors there.

    Pros

Great pay and good benefits. The job wasn't all that difficult really.

    Cons

It's a challenge working anywhere when you realize you're a lame duck.

    Advice to Management

Do better research so you don't have to let 500 people go.

    Pros

Pays well and offers excellent benefits and tries to promote a good work/life balance for all employees. Values worker safety and community impact.

    Cons

Will favor a shareholders benefit above an employees benefit whenever the two conflict. Expects that you live to work for them and see there success whether you're succeeding or not.

    Advice to Management

Return to value your employees more than stock price and shareholder rankings.

Great people. Family atmosphere. Hard working, but good work life balance and work flexibility. Good investment in personal education. Above average company benefits.

    Cons

Not a lot of career advancement opportunities in certain offices. Lots of bureaucracy at corporate office. Things take a long time to implement.

    Advice to Management

Create more rotational positions and reduce layers of bureaucracy.

The company culture is great--The employees are very fun and energetic. Lots of community involvement. Clear career path and trajectory for how to move up in the company.
