    Pros

The residents are always the pro. I loved them all. The people I worked with were like family.

    Cons

Genesis only cares about the bottom line. Got paid the same as any other minimum wage job, but was required to do a LOT more. Genesis worked us to the bone, which inevitably hurts the resident's quality of care.

    Advice to Management

Know your employees. Treat us all as equal.

    Pros

It is actually pretty good pay compared to most places in the area where I live.

    Cons

Very unprofessional people working there. If you go to your supervisor and tell her you are having a problem with someone. Your supervisor will then go to that person and tell them what you said and who said it, which then would cause tension.

    Pros

I learned a lot about Medicare guidelines as a Rehab Office Coordinator. The company has an online continuing education program. If a contract is lost they will try their best to find another location for you.

    Cons

Unfortunately there is a significant disconnect between corporate and their contract sites. Prior to their takeover of Sundance the company wasn't so bad, after the acquisition forget it. HR is terrible, if you have an ethical issue with the way services are being delivered or with management don't assume that HR will "help resolve the conflict", they will always defend their Rehab managers no matter what may happen or what proof you can provide that something is going on. The company has just grown to be to big, they have a monopoly over the industry, and I'm not sure how they get away with it. Last year after they purchased Sundance they cut most therapists/ staff hours to 30-32/ week. I worked my butt off and never received a raise or an annual review for that matter though I had inquired with the Area Director several times. They also will make you travel to two or more locations in your "area", and no longer pay for travel expenses.

    Advice to Management

Reduce PCH!! Show an interest in and support your employees, improve contracted work environments by actually being present and opening your eyes to the inefficiencies your employees may face when expected to meet such high productivity rates and provide Point of Care service!

    Pros

Nice residents,co-workers.Free parking, doing the work off all the peoples that call out constantly

    Cons

They don't care about their staff,20 cents raise a year is the proof.Starting minimum wage for tedious work. Company only numbers based. Poor condition of work. The industry as a whole is a joke and that is why they have a 80% turnover.Couldn't wait to move on.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at other hospitality type of food service, such as hotel , etc...and duplicate their system. Understand that reducing the turnover to 20% somehow will translate into more profit in the long run, and give REAL incentive to what your describe (yeah right) your biggest asset.

    Pros

There are no Pros to this company. You accrue time off based on years of service, yet they do not approve your time off. Even in an emergency you cannot take personal time unless you work for yourself

    Cons

No time off granted and have to work for yourself to get time off. Will not let employees take week off during any holiday, and they only give you 2 holidays which you have to work/

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your employees they are very unhappy.

    Pros

Good benefits and insurance coverage offered

    Cons

At my work site there was a great deal of conflict of interest and nepotism among the Director of Nursing and the nursing staff and CNA's.

    Advice to Management

Keep working relationships more professional and discourage gossip and cliques from persisting among staff.

    Pros

Worked with a great team of therapist. Free CEUs offered on their intranet website.

    Cons

Productivity expectations make it difficult to provide both quality care and good documentation. Expected to be 90% productive as a PTA.

Mandatory training/ in-services and weekly staff meeting not paid for in order to keep productivity up.

New hire training is unorganized/ chaotic. Quality time is not spent on training to ensure employees understand their job, are familiar with the company, and know their benefits. This seems to be partly due to productivity expectations and partly due to a sloppy company.

    Benefits continue to be cut.

You have only 2 paid holidays per year, Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day. If you want another holiday off, you have to come in on the weekend to make that day up.

You are offered vacation time and PTO, but it's almost impossible to use it. You have to give notice months in advance for days off. The therapy group is only allowed a certain number of days off per month, so if someone has a week vacation then no one else can have a day off that month.

It census is low, and nearby facilities don't need help, in order to get your hours in you either have to drive to a facility far away or pad you hours using benefit time. If you are full-time, and you don't get your full-time hours , your benefits will eventually be cut and your status will change to part-time.

    Advice to Management

Promote quality patient care by not being overly focused on money. Happy employees = happy patients and happy company.

    Pros

Vacation and regular hours. Being a chef this is rare and appreciated.

    Cons

Promised promotion that never happened. Pay raises are not performance based and are only 3% annually. "Benefits" are now major medical only. No matching 401k.
