Good company to work for. I really think sometime the regional personnel interfere with the everyday operation.

Maintenance Director (Former Employee) Oak Hill, WV

ProsGreat support from supervisors, when needed.

ConsMaybe too high end on regional consultants could use more help on lower end of staffing.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed more staff at the center of patient care levels.

Opportunities for growth for those who want it.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsI have been working with Genesis since 2005, in different roles; all of which have allowed me to grow personally and professionally. I truly recommend this company in their career choice.

ConsIf you are truly committed to the healthcare setting and work hard there really are not any con's. the health insurance benefits have declined over the last few years.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would just have to say, the health insurance could better. Also, the tuition assistance program has not been available for quite some time now, and to have that assistance the for employees to use will make them more valuable in the long run.

    Good potential to advance

    OTR (Former Employee)

ProsAOTA friendly, good educational opportunities, flexibility & good compensation and benefits. Reasonable productivity standards. Good opportunities for advancement. Greater job security when employed by an owner operator versus working for a contract company. Although Genesis has both owner operator and contract work, I was employed at a Genesis operator building.

ConsComputer software needs some work, time consuming when dealing with tech support.

Advice to Senior ManagementImprove software for documentation and increase number of computers and laptops or for evals.

PTA for 14 years, worked for Genesis for one year and had been trying to get on with this company for awhile.

PTA (Current Employee) Kansas City, KS

ProsFlexible with time off and scheduling. Good team players (but there is always that one...), great pay and above average benefits. They are the most patient first oriented rehab company I've ever worked for in 14 years. Documentation is excellent and completed on Itouch. Assistants at my facility do not do the progress notes, only the daily notes...of course this is not a pro for the PTs or the OTs.

ConsThere is no process of weeding out people who waste time and have low productivity. By weeding out I mean writing up an employee if he or she gets less that 30% below expected productivity. It is really easy where I work to get your expected productivity, and generally there are a few others that waste a lot of time with personal calls and chit chat which makes it harder for the rest of the team.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep track of all your employees...offer bonuses to those who excel as therapists as well as those who excel in their productivity. Incentives as well as criticism.

Best rehab company I have worked for, ever!

Physical Therapist Assistant (Current Employee) Prairie Village, Johnson, KS

ProsThis company doesn't make you feel like you are a slave to your job. They want their employees to be happy and enthusiastic about their jobs.

ConsTough job applications which require a long form for references to fill out;, which makes it difficult to hire. PT's seem to be overstressed with paperwork.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore facility wide positive reinforcements when buildings or people do well.
