    Pros

Genesis healthcare has people working as a team. We laugh, cry and even get mad together. Great caring people.

    Cons

Genesis Healthcare you work every other weekend. It's healthcare and never closes. People come and people go.

    Advice to Management

Offer bonuses for new staffing if they stay a certain amt of time. We need new people!!!

I have been working at Genesis HealthCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Co-workers. Salary is decent. Benefits are OK but getting less each year. Good opportunity to earn free CEU's. They pay for AOTA membership.

    Cons

Pressure to get minutes!! Many "FT" therapist assistants now hired at 30 hrs\wk but must be willing to work up to 40 when needed. No overtime allowed at many facilities. Bsically they want you to be available when they need you but go home.

    Advice to Management

I have never worked for a co. that showed absolutely no appreciation to its employees like Genesis. 3 yrs and no one got so much as an attaboy or a lousy Christmas card.

    Pros

Solid company with good people and values. Focused on providing quality care to our country's older population. Largest post-acute care provider and still growing.

    Cons

Sometimes growing faster than corporate office staff can support. Corporate organization suffers from poor communication at times and lack of internal career ladder.

    Advice to Management

Redouble efforts to promote from within to save costs and boost morale. Slow down the M&A growth to allow full integration and consolidation.
