I have been working at Genesys

    Pros

    Good Product, when it works

    Cons

Not enough R & D, growing too fast

I worked at Genesys full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company has s great software product

    Cons

Life balance non existence in here.
No vacation accrual. So pray for a good and understandable manager (unlikely).
The worst medium level management that I've seen in any company that I've worked for. Worst of all, high level managers don't care.
Don't expect a good flow of communication.
Daly City (nothing in here but fog)

Current Employee - Senior Sales Engineer in San Jose, CA

I have been working at Genesys full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Smart sales engineers that are willing to indure the stupidity of administrative staff that do not respect, appreciate or understand how an SE contributes to an enterprise software sale.

    Cons

No respect for the above mentioned sales engineers. Here is an idea, we are going to hire SE's right off the street with no industry experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why not hire management and HR and other back office right out of college? Surely they could not do any worse.

    Genesys Response

    Jul 24, 2014SVP, Human Resources

It sounds like you are frustrated by our Associate Sales Engineer Program, which is designed to hire and develop new talent to support and work with our senior SE’s. We GREATLY value our existing SE ... More

I have been working at Genesys full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you have been there for ten years, or can be brought in by a very senior person, they will set you up. Otherwise you get crumbs and no guidance

    Cons

Everyone is worried about their jobs after they went private and brought in new VP Sales. There is no interest in managing or building the company or developing employees, just self preservation. Not a lot of pressure but very limited upside

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Decide on a vision and plan and get on with it. It shouldn't take months and months of silence and no guidance

Technical Support is a bad place for a career in anything outside Genesys "World"

I have been working at Genesys

    Pros

The only benefit is that you learn Genesys apps.

    Cons

No promotions, no recognition for hard work.
Technical Support Management does not have any value for quality work and
never supports in any movement within the company for a progress in career and creates obstacles by not giving appropriate genesys skills for development after any attempts to move within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company has technical support as part of it and not vice versa.
IMO,only dull people decide to stay in one place forever, others try to progress
and move forward and you should support their efforts because you wanted to hire smart people!

If you think that you've fooled everyone so far in giving them false hopes, experienced employees are leaving technical support which clearly shows a lot!

Rewarding the same employees over and over again and promoting them 2 to 3 times is great! Try rewarding other employees who have served you for years as well and see what a difference it will make!
