    Fast paced growing company

    Director (Current Employee)

ProsThe company is growing and you have the potential to grow with it.
There are lots of internal movement opportunities.
Great culture and people are cooperative to work with.

ConsWith growth there is some pain in keeping up with the pace.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind the right balance between new and tenured employees in regards to the methodologies or approaches being taken. Not all the old methodologies or approaches need to be changed.

    Great place to work

Senior Recruiter (Current Employee) Chantilly, VA

ProsVery positive and caring corporate culture. The company delivers on it's promises. The company is very established yet still has a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Great software and great products. Benefits are very strong also.

ConsStill integrating from several acquisitions last year has led to a communication gap at times but that is improving rapidly.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep pushing towards one company vision that is consistently communicated.

Great well-meaning people. Cloudy and confused leadership.

Marketing (Current Employee) Daly City, CA

ProsFamily friendly work place. People cared about one another. Not back-stabbing. Several incredibly smart people. Freedom to try new things and think big picture.

ConsThere was little internal communication about the direction of the company. It was very hard to get agreement at an executive level. There was too high a tolerance for sloppy work, especially in execution: Meetings start late, errors in public communication, lack of clear objectives, lack of post-project follow up (was it successful? etc.).

Advice to Senior ManagementPut the customers first. Not the IPO or Premera.

    Great Company!

Sales Account (Current Employee) Daly City, CA

ProsThe potential for growth in Genesys is tremendous. The people, from high level executives to peers, are all very friendly and willing to help new folks like me.

ConsLike with every company that is growing, there are a few kinks to iron out.

    Good Work/Life balance.

Senior Principal Consultant (Current Employee) Daly City, CA

ProsInnovative products that lead the contact center industry. All of us will go out of our way to make sure the Customer needs are met. At professional services, we build and implement large (> $1M) solutions for big enterprises (Banks, telecom companies, utilities etc).We get to work from home full time in any US city (Travel to customer sites as necessary).

ConsNot much in terms of career growth opportunities. Fairly static careers for all my co-workers and managers. Genesys is pretty much focused only on the contact center and maybe not for someone interested in fast growth sectors like Mobile Computing, Big Data and Machine Learning etc. They recently acquired companies to have products in the Cloud, but I don't see much of it in my line of work (yet). We HAVE to work from home full time!

A good starting point (marketing ops)

Marketing Database Intern (Former Employee) Daly City, CA

Pros- The current senior marketing database manager permitted me room for growth.
    - Supportive of my success and gave me a shining reference (even created an opening for me even though I ended up having to decline the offer).

Cons- I did not have a grasp of our product despite being on the marketing team..
    - Not much visibility if you're an intern; but I guess it would not be the best use of time to fill-in an intern with your business strategies anyhow.

Advice to Senior Management- Keep encouraging growth. It helps foster talent and success. You will see a return in a more happy, efficient, and creative employee.

Positive (a bit overly so) work environment. Some directions to grow.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Pros-Very positive and strong attempt to maintain a company culture, though the company is so big that it often feels forced and ineffective, albeit genuine. Example: a company facebooky type thing that has no real value and most people don't really use
-Upper management is good at keeping everyone informed
-Lots of offers for internal classes and education

Cons-Not sure when/where use of those classes would really happen
-So big and so many products, nobody knows what they all are
-So much information everywhere, it's almost overwhelming to know what's salient to you

    Fun place to work

Software Engineer (Current Employee) Daly City, CA

ProsGreat place to learn. A lot of great people to work with, and many opportunities to travel.

ConsA lot of bureaucracy has led to working on projects difficult.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure that the developers also have a say sometimes, or notice their work, not just their managers.

Good company with good people, but an overall lacking of company cohesiveness.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Daly City, CA

ProsIt is easy to work at and be proud of your work at a company that has great products to sell.

ConsLack of communications between departments and within departments. Minimal to no training for new employees.
