    Pros

Workload is not too heavy. Get to work on some interesting projects. Some people are really good at their jobs and you can learn from them.

    Cons

For a services company, it's shocking how little they value or invest in their employees. Corporate in particular gets the shaft. We are considered completely replaceable. The IT department is incompetent, with outdated systems and a lack of integration across the company. The company is an old boys club, hiring friends to do jobs they aren't qualified for. This company is ripe for a gender discrimination lawsuit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit chasing the share price, think long-term and invest in human capital.

I worked at Gentiva full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Medical insurance is very good. PTO time is good also. The best part of course is the patients you will care for. They are the best and the only reason I stayed.

    Cons

As long as you do whatever they say, even if it is not what you were hired to do,they will like you. If you don't do everything they ask, management WILL find a way to termanate you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If there is a problem with a ptaient, family member of, ALF or Nursing home. The E.D. needs to suport the employees. Not just take the side of the complaint.

I worked at Gentiva full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

full benefits, 401k match, paid time off (but you'll have to fight others for the specific time)

    Cons

Operations didn't understand how to be sales minded and approach customers from a customer service perspective to ensure a positive experience. Constant battle between sales and ops. Numbers were set based on prior year performance and production was based on ability of clinical staff to perform. Fast moving environment with many moving parts. Not everyone on team able to work to the demands placed by corporate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Everyone in branch is so over worked, they are stretched beyond capacity and it leads to burn out and frustration of everyone. Have to allow people the PTO they request... Ridiculous to have to fight for requested time off

I have been working at Gentiva

    Pros

    Average benefits plan..above average pay..

    Cons

If you are able to stay out of the office than it is a decent company to work for..But since they belittle and micromanage their employees you can't stay out of the office

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please become more involved in what is happening at the branch level...Several of the branch managers are nothing more than warlords who hold an employees family and livlehood in their hands like its a toy....Constant threats ,constant profanity, constant belittlement of clinicians...if they want to fire you they will fabricate a reason to do so and there is nothing that can be done about it..In my clinic alone the MCPs have changed over 4 times this year alone and it has become common place to see the office staff in tears ..16 fantastic clinicians have quit in the last 24 months..that should tell you all you need to know..the branch manager is very unprofessional and will even post demeaning comments on his Facebook page about his staff..

I worked at Gentiva full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

3 weeks PTO at hire, Sales manager does not micromanage, great benefits, 401K, Health Insurance, Phone. Peers are wonderful to work with. Clincains care about patients and are dependable. Gentiva offers wonderful specialty programs to help elderly regain indepedence. Sales has a lot of flexibility. Account Executive position is good to have on a resume. This is a very competitive field and the position is respected by other companies.

    Cons

There is a Operation verses Sales mantality with a lot of friction. Branch Manager/operation managers attempts to tell sales reps how to sell. It makes me laugh because they do not have a clue on how to sell. Sales team is treated poorly. Stressful when team is not hitting weekly targets. Sales are underpaid. And Targets given are unreasonable. It has been said, "The company only want you to make a certain amount in bonuses." Very little training- You must be able to be a quick learner and self teach. Can be a hostile environment, Sarcasm, demeaning comments from all managers at branch level.. Pay raises are nonexistent.I would recommend position to a friend. However, for a few years. Once you start making good bonuses they increase your target so you can't make additional money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time training up front. Operations/Branch managers- manage your own people. You have no business giving sales advice. Sales Managers- Back up your sales reps.

    Pros

Good insurance and PTO time. Gentiva link a plus. clinicians great and they really care about the patients.

    Cons

Poor Leadership, unqualified managers that belittle you. Lack of support. Constant turnover and no one in upper management cares. A lot of work is done at home that you are not compensated for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your nurses and don't belittle them. Shadow in the field and see what it is like. Don't believe everything you hear..
