Good people with a great mission

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsGentiva is growing. The company holds a lot of opportunity for anyone with a great attitude and strong work ethic. They have offices all over the country so there is opportunity to move anywhere you like to advance your career. The pay and benefits are good and the management cares about the employees. The culture is good and focused on providing caring compassionate care.

ConsThis company expects a lot from its workers. The industry is in a difficult economic environment due to Medicare cost cutting. The company is facing declining income and is in a cost cutting state so pay increases are not as good as I would have hoped.

Advice to Senior ManagementStay in touch with your employees in the local offices.

    Great company to work for

Registered Nurse (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsOur office is run by a talented team, from the branch director to the scheduler everybody works well together. The local and area managers are always promoting from within and encourage professional development. Recognition is given for hard work and the office even recognizes us for providing great service or care. You can tell that the management team truly care about clinicians and want us to be happy. I love our team and know that together we deliver great patient care.

ConsPaperwork is difficult. Need a computer system that improves efficiency.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease get rid of paper records. I hear life smart is not good, there has got to be something better than paper.

    Great Place to Work!!

Full Time Administrative Employee (Current Employee) Overland Park, KS

ProsEveryone works as a team & the manager cares about each of her employees. The PTO is great. Work hours are flexable and everyone is so nice.

ConsBecause the company is so large communication can sometimes be an issue. It's a challenge making sure everyone is on the same page.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep an open mind, and make sure you try to visit as many locations as you can. It is very important that employees can put a face with the name.

    Great Company

Location Manager (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsThoughtful leadership that balances good business. Good employees are what they desire and are willing to provide for in order to retain them.

ConsYour biggest customer is the federal government; reimbursement for the great job you do is annually devalued.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't hesitate to eliminate a game player when you find them.

    We must be unique here?

Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (Current Employee) Hot Springs, AR

ProsGreat pay--and I've worked in a number of settings and cities, flexible schedule, great camaraderie and morale at home office and during meetings, fun place to work, supportive and encouraging management in my home office, good communication and effective staff meetings. We are like a big, fun family here at Gentiva.

Rewarding job, and great pay doing what you love!

ConsSure we may have to travel farther than we like sometimes, but we do get paid for mileage in addition to a great visit rate for pay-per-visit clinicians.

As compared to working at a nursing facility where you are in constant contact with other disciplines, I can see how it seems teamwork may not feel as relevant in home health. But that's what you have the weekly team meetings and co-worker phone list for, and our interdisciplinary communication is excellent.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the awesome work. We have a fun, hardworking, great team (at least at my office)

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
