I have been working at Georgetown University full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I really enjoyed my two years as a Fellow at Georgetown University Law Center. The contacts I made were outstanding, there were lots of opportunities to engage in all sorts of intellectual events and other social and sporting activities. The legal projects I worked on were prestigious and involved interesting travel. University has good leave policies and benefits such as gym, cheap cafeteria, good working from home policy in my unit.

    Cons

Lack of potential to move upwards (all academic jobs like this at the moment). Academic bosses not necessarily good managers, but were well meaning.

I worked at Georgetown University part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Real life experience, real responsibility, awesome culture, the best people

    Cons

technically a "non-paid" internship, which is a bummer for the amount of work done - but then again it is so worth it and you get "paid" through multiple other facets.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Georgetown University full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very friendly faculty members and high profile research projects

    Cons

Very limited flexibility to design and conduct your research projects, since the principal investigator as a control freak wants you do everything as she thinks is right, without considering your opinions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being ignorant and arrogant to your fellow graduate students, be more transparent about long term plan.

I have been working at Georgetown University full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The benefits - including incredible tuition benefits
Company culture is laid back while challenging
    Perfect for young professionals!

    Cons

Salaries can be lower due to the high benefits
    Challenging commute
Can be very stressful if you regularly interact with students

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think it is important for the management to regularly communicate with employees. Six month reviews where a dialogue is established to set-up expectations, learn from mistakes, and discussion about future goals is extremely important for the employee's success and satisfaction. Sometimes frustration occurs when the employee sees no future where he or she is.
