I worked at Georgia Tech part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Working as a graduate teaching assistant was a very beneficial experience. Teaching entry level class improved my understanding of the basics, and it also helped me with my communication skills.

    Cons

Can't really think of anything I'm not satisfied with. The training before the begging of the semester was very intense. I understand the benefits of "learning to teach", but most people just didn't care much about it.

I worked at Georgia Tech as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Worked remotely with grant allocations & management, coordinating travel, proofing research papers, conference coordination and compiling research references. Built multi national network amongst research professors. Contractual basis for 14 months. Great experience!

    Cons

Part time availability on a contractual basis, so the position wasn't the most reliable on a financial point, and the school department was not willing to work with a stranger based remotely.. Made getting the invoices paid a little more difficult.

I have been working at Georgia Tech part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

24/7 Access to the invention studio, which is equiped with cutting edge manufacturing equiptment. Also, give the ability to teach others how to use these machines, and give general advice on designing.

    Cons

If you live on the wrong side of campus, the 24/7 access is somewhat a moot point, as you are limited by your ability to make it to the studio.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give the studio more money. It will always be used wisely to further increase our ability to help all students on campus.
