I have been working at Georgia Tech part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Students get paid easily and also receive tuition waiver. Tuition is tons of money for out-of-state student. Therefore, it it very worth to take the TA position. Also, it is also pretty interesting to answer questions.

    Cons

The workload is absolutely not small. You may expect the workload is equal to or even heavier than you actually taking a course.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The compensation should be raised, since the school is scaling and there are more students in one class.

I worked at Georgia Tech full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Always working on innovative projects. Working there as a graduate research assistant at the School of Aerospace engineering gave me incredible opportunities to get my hands dirty and discovery new things.

    Cons

Georgia Tech is known for its rigorous academics, but I think they are all worth it. The salary for graduate research assistants are pretty minimal, but if you play your cards right, you can get through grad school without having to take out a loan!

I have been working at Georgia Tech part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Challenging, as the undergraduate teaching assistant, you learn new knowledge, and debugging skill as well while helping other student debugging their homework.
All professors I have work with are very respectful, and nice.
The pay might not be much, but the experience is unique, especially if you are the person who like to help others.

    Cons

The hourly pay could be better. The hourly salary for a senior student teaching assistant is only 10 dollar per hour.

I have been working at Georgia Tech full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I was working on different funded projects by Precast Concrete Institute (PCI), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), Fiatech, Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). I had/have the best coworkers. I gained lots of experience in different domains through working on these projects. Some of them were international projects, and multiple people were collaborate with us from different countries. This helps me to learned how to manage a project and engage other coworkers.

    Cons

Not really anything that I'm aware of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I was working under supervision of Prof. Chuck Eastman and Prof. Javier Irizarry. Both of them have the best leadership.

I have been working at Georgia Tech

    Pros

401K and retirement plans one of the best nationally, HR actually does a good job of being visible, opportunities for telecommuting in my position

    Cons

Long term career at Georgia Tech harder for those seeking engineering roles, especially if your work is on contract, Parking permits are killer (but so is anywhere in midtown Atlanta).

I have been working at Georgia Tech

    Pros

This job is that the university offers to all their phd students. Though it sounds less, you can never complain the school.

    Cons

The payment is quite low. It cannot cover your living cost in Atlanta because you have to pay for your fee which is quite a lot!
