    Pros

    lots of resources;
    smart students;
    top-notch professors;
    highly competitive environment that pushes you to succeed, sometimes at the cost of your social life and liver.

    Cons

    lot of pressure;
    campus facilities are atrocious and bilk you for every last penny. Each campus facility (dining rooms, parking and transportation, campus recreation, registrar) functions as a private fiefdom.;
    Money is charged for every little thing - late fees, transportation fees, auxiliary fees, student fees, parking fees, etc. etc.

    Advice to Management

    Treat as less like a business and more like an educational institution.

    Pros

    Georgia Tech is well set up to take in external money and process it properly. School chairs are very willing to go out of there way to make it work for you. Generally you can set your own schedule

    Cons

    Salary was low. Insurance is poor. While you can set your own schedule, they often demand long hours.

    Advice to Management

    Treat GRAs as real employees

    The job is great: solving real scientific problems, communication with interesting people, etc.
