    Pros

The work-life balance is unlike anything I have ever seen before. Whether it is vacation time, sick time, maternity leave, mileage, reimbursements, the benefits package of working for the Girl Scouts is incredibly generous. The leaders of the organization are in the sandbox with the front-facing employees, and there is not a huge discrepancy between how the top and bottom of the ladder is treated. The company truly puts girls first, although financials are obviously important to any nonprofit.

    Cons

The compensation/salary is relatively low compared to other nonprofit organizations, but the work-life balance, benefits, and workplace culture more than make up for this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think that this company has great management in place that will take this traditional organization to new heights and produce the (girl) leaders of today and tomorrow.

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, family-like work environment, room for upward movement, training courses provided at no cost & definite learning experience provided for those who are eager to move up the corporate non-profit ladder. It was a great place to work that allowed me to obtain a wealth of information & wear multiple hats - gaining above average experience for the length of time i was employed. Awesome benefits & flexibility. A lot of opportunity to get involved on a volunteer level. Solid mission & values.

    Cons

Working at a non-profit sometimes doesn't allow you the room to put into play programs or ideas/creativity you would like to due to budgetary constraints.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should offer more internships to college students, it would be a great advantage to both sides.

    Pros

The culture at Girl Scouts, Arizona Cactus-Pine, is wonderfully supportive with a consistent, passionate vision provided by the CEO. The quality of employees and co-workers is excellent, with dedicated, talented people filling the organization. There is also a high level of management commitment to personal and professional development of employees at every level.

    Cons

The expectation is that each employee be focused and committed to the organization and the mission and do what it takes to complete the task at hand. This results in a high level of energy and time required. Luckily, almost everyone is high-energy and as passionate as the CEO.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work! It's a great, exciting environment!
