I worked at GlaxoSmithKline as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great team work ethic, always happy to help, very engaging even with short-term colleagues. Always had jobs that I could be doing.

    Cons

Seemed to be a lack of coordination between teams, no real understanding of who really worked where, and who had the best knowledge for a specific problem.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more meetings where everyone gets to meet all the other teams, allow for more time to chat about what they know, will help productivity in the long run

I worked at GlaxoSmithKline as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

In GSK, you will find one of the most friendly work environment you can find. The salary may not be the best salary relatively, however it is a good opportunity to learn a lot, particularly if you are in the entry level.

    Cons

The recruitment is a bot slow, and they rarely take people with limited experience.

    Pros

GSK is a very people focused enjoyable place to work. The office in Brentford is amazing!

The culture is the best thing about GSK - they focus on their employees and reward very fairly.

    Cons

Lack of process - sometimes too much focus on the people with meetings about meetings.

Slow changes / slow decision making due to the size of the company.

I worked at GlaxoSmithKline as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

GSK thinks a lot about its employees and ensures good communications and supports a good work/life balance.

    Cons

Much of what is great about GSK comes from the CEO Andrew Witty, if he were to leave/retire, I am not sure how well the company would maintain its positive energy.

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good training development and flex/stretch opportunities. Clear plan to support key talent should you impress the right stakeholders. Overall benefits package is good and very good work life balance.

    Cons

Pay element of benefits lower than industry average. Global opportunities not as easy to access as I expected or was led to believe. Going through major change which can lead to slow decision making.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More clear 3-5 year plans required in loc supported by above country teams.

    Pros

    Salary and bonuses good
Opportunities to progress if you are prepared to move departments or geography

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy, hierarchy and focus on process rather than delivery

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
