    Great Growth Opportunities

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsA lot of career choices

ConsOver the phone sales is entry level. If you have great numbers, moving to different departments is much easier. If not, then you should start looking elsewhere.

New management taking away all the things that made it cool to work there.

    Software Developer (Former Employee)

ProsCasual atmosphere. Flexible work schedule. Ability to work from home.

ConsCompensation below norm (they think that bonuses make up for it but they're wrong). Technology not as advanced as you'd expect. New management is slowly chipping away at benefits.

Advice to Senior ManagementReplace old technology. Stop taking away benefits. No one is fooled by the new "unlimited vacation time" policy.

    Awesome company to work for.

Bilingual Sales and Support (Current Employee)
    Tempe, AZ

ProsExcellent benefits starting on first day. Great training and team work with all departments. Smart operations system and quick resolving issues to satisfy the customers. Great support from supervisors and senior team members. Opportunity for personal growth and cross training. Great biweekly sales bonus. Great food in the cafeteria for lunch and dinner time. Opportunity for overtime double pay.

ConsNo room for promotions; forced sales to clients in order to maintain minimum sales goal. More sales oriented than customer care.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work but don't forget that the customers you service are the ones to pay your salary.

    Great Place to work....at first.

    Professional Hosting Services (Former Employee)
    Hiawatha, IA

ProsGreat benefits, awesome contests, killer Christmas party, and pretty good pay!

ConsMetrics based, look for reasons to fire, difficult to move up.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe a little bit more forgiving of small mistakes. It's okay to make mistakes everyone will.

    Fun while it lasted

    Senior Software Engineer (Former Employee)
    Denver, CO

ProsI loved the EAI's, which stood for Employee Appreciation Initiative. Basically as a team you would take off early for the day and go have fun together. Godaddy also paid for a motorcycle introduction class on my behalf. Health insurance was better than average for the industry.

ConsNew leadership has it's pros and cons. Leadership, IMHO, are moving toward traditional internet company hubs like seattle and bay area in california, and out of other locations. Going through growing pains as company tries to go public.

Very informative job, but growing too fast to keep up with the demand for premium services.

    Professional Hosting Services (Current Employee)

ProsGood hourly base pay, good benefits if you're single.

ConsMaking sales is more important than helping customers. Cut throat atmosphere breeds a class of reps that are reckless and detrimental to customers businesses. Company values are preached but never really followed up upon.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on finding better ways to assist your customers. Reel-in the sub-culture that's been created.

Hard work, great reasons to work for them

Technical Support and Sales Representative (Current Employee)
    Gilbert, AZ

Pros100% free health insurance, half hour lunch paid for so you only work an 8 hour day, good pay, nice commission, 3 weeks vacation a year, can move up after 90 days

ConsManagement isn't very organized, sick time is not very much at all, sometimes you feel like you are being ripped off with commission

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more flexible with employees and get a phone number for HR

Good company but still having growing pains.

    SOC Analyst (Current Employee)
    Scottsdale, AZ

ProsThings are slowly moving towards a more structured approach way of handling things. In the past there often seemed to be very little long range planning involved when it came to products. This is gradually improving under the guidance of recent additions to our executive team.

ConsThere is still a long way to go, especially when it comes improving outdated processes. I am also a little concerned that in the eagerness to remake our public image, we are becoming a clone of other big companies.

Advice to Senior ManagementReward the workers who do well, and drop more of the dead weight.

Great culture, great values and love the management!

Inbound Sales and Support (Former Employee)
    Tempe, AZ

ProsMultiple shifts, multiple departments and job positions make for great advancement opportunities if you apply yourself to your job and take pride in what you do. Pay is above industry average and PTO plans are very generous; management in the department works with their employees for PTO requests if the system automatically rejects them. Atmosphere is fun, although the work is hard, you do feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day and that you made a difference.

ConsTheir PTO management is horrible b/c of the system they use to manage people taking time off and their preset "max" for each department, which is set arbitrarily. You will only get your PTO for vacation approved if you are more senior or work something out with your department manager.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of your PTO management section - their archaic policies are the reason I looked for another job in the first place. Either increase your max allowable for PTO use depending on department or allow top performers more priority to get PTO requests approved.

One of the hardest, but most satisfying jobs I ever had.

    Manager (Former Employee)
    Tempe, AZ

ProsI had the ability to affect change on a grand scale and significant opportunity for career advancement. In 2010 the COO was 3 levels above me and KNEW me and the members of my groups. Figuring out how to work with such a huge environment was challenging and I had ample chance to feel accomplished.

ConsPart of GoDaddy's success was that the highest levels took a deep interest in what was happening bellow them. This has it's plusses, but it negatively affected in that every level of my chain of command directly contacted me for information, often the same. Raises were not given with promotions, I received very nice merit increases with review process and one market increase, but still ended my time significantly under salary for my role.
