Advice to Senior Managementemploy people on the basis of how much knowledge of the company and current affairs they convey in the interview. Good grades does not necessarily constitute a good employee whereas the ability to use information in the interview environment does.

Interesting if you are happy with the culture

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsVery bright and driven people

Consvery insular. Many managers have never worked elsewhere in their career. Difficult to acclimate to the culture if coming from a non consensus based firm

Advice to Senior ManagementAcknowledge the best and brightest actually have potentially more rewarding options externally. Mobility is glacial.

    Great firm, very smart people

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsI have met very few people who are not smart in this firm. Everyone at senior levels i.e Partner are very very competent, highly commercial and quite practical. The commitment to diversity etc is real. It is mostly a meritocracy.

ConsThe firm needs to keep an eye on how much further the compensation ratio vs ROE tradeoff should go. Right now, it is pretty close to the point where there will be wider discontent. But needless to say this is something thats constantly discussed and watched internally.
