    I worked at Goodwill part-time

    Pros

It is a good learning experience. Organization and decision skills improve. Tasks can be simple. Environment is enjoyable and can be relaxing.

    Cons

The hard floors are killer on the knees and back. Sometimes customers can be quite rude and can donate pure garbage which they expect you to deal with. I've had to deal with poopy diapers and rat nests. The management treated us workers like thieves and threatened to place cameras everywhere to watch us.

I worked at Goodwill part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very green company. They salvage everything to get recycled for money. Many opportunities to move up. Discounts vary between regions. It's nice to get an eye on things first before customers get to them. However, you cannot touch anything until you are off the clock before or after your shift.

    Cons

I wish the company came together as one instead of being split into regions.

I worked at Goodwill full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It was a pleasure to provide services to others needing help. Goodwill has dedicated employees in their Employment Programs and should be commended for their hard work.

    Cons

Too much work for one person after so many administrative functions were added.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You would be able to provide so much more to individuals if you considered hiring more people to each remote location. The needs are great in most rural areas.

    Cons

Overwhelming workloads, funding chases, non-competitive salaries and annual raises. Lack of internal upward mobility for young, competent, results-driven professionals in HS divisions.
